Which is better Eternal Yokeda vs. Footmans

I'm looking more into mitigation I do know that footmans 5 piece provides mitigation increased by 8% but yokedas 3 piece provides 5% damage flat damage reduction from enemies in trials/dungeons; so which is definitely better I've got no clue. It would be better if someone could provide me the formula to calculate mitigation but I believe even so I'd need to know if footmans mitigation is the same as yokedas minor aegis.

    Pretty sure the answer is going along the lines of "none of these are needed".

    Alternative answer: Ebon. Max health is life, max health is love, also keeps your group alive.
    Alternative answer 2: Considering the very few cases where extreme mitigation is actually necessary (e.g vet Warrior), you can rely on an offtank to put Guard on you. You don't need extra mitigation for dungeons (actually, even with the usual BS / Tava / Ebon, you can technically never die to anything except one shot mechanics).

    Mathematical answer: the way it's calculated, Minor Aegis & Footman will both reduce the actual damage taken by a very tiny amount, since it'll basically reduce the final damage taken by 5 or 8% (Minor Aegis / footman respectively). Thus, other mitigations tools taken into account, you'll get something VERY tiny - about 2% mitigation at most from footman, even less from Minor Aegis.

    It's using the cp14 set bonus... which is better than the current updated version. so the benefit will be less than 2% mitigation while blocking
    Footmans isn't crap or anything.. but i would rather have the "save my ass" utility from yokeda.

    @Asmael
    On vet Warrior we've only done it without anyone using guard since I asked for it and I've consistently beat him without although I did have my current setup on (5 piece ebon 5 piece footman 1 chudan 1 maelstrom sword).
    Clarification: I asked for that as I'm the main tank for vet trials.

    Update I believe you've answered my question, I simply thought the mitigation from footmans was a different kind as well as minor aegis.

    Both sets are garbage. Don't use them. It does not matter which one mitigates more, because the end effect is near to nothing.

    And a serious indication itemization in this game is F'd up. in the tank department more so then anywhere else. Health and mitigation are useless before you even hit the cap. But i do enjoy your vids ive learned a lot. how do you feel about all the Procing sets coming up or the stat stacking ?
