Player housing/guild halls

Hello everyone,

After reading some posts about about housing i was curious to one thing. Most people seem to assume you'll either buy it with crowns or with gold which strikes me as weird considering crafting is a huge part of this game.

Wouldn't it be more logical to ask for a system were you litterally build the houses/guild halls by collecting materials and well you know building it.
This could also be used as a way to actually use all the materials in the game except just the cp 160 ones.
Furthermore building a guild hall with your guild halls can easily be used a social event for basically the entire guild, running mats, building parts etc.

thoughts ?

This would be amazing, but at the end of the day ZoS needs to make money. Plus, crown store images have been data mines of furniture which points to the direction that housing will be crown store based.

well they could still make you buy the plans needed for anything but a basic house/furniture etc right ?

Yeah. I still hope that they include a non-crown store way to get housing. It would be a lot of fun to have to gather materials and build your house. We really just have to wait till after One Tamriel is released to start receiving more info from ZOS.

They could simply have it so you must have a subscription to own a home (which will probably happen anyways) an then have various sized plots where you could build custom homes, castles or guild halls. And then have it so there is premium content/ items that can be bought from the crown store. Like unique entraces or blue prints to be able to build specific items. That would be amazing. Let people built whatever they want in whatever style they want (so long as they know the style) you could even have it so traits play a role too.

I made a thread with a similar concept last year.

I am certain that houses alike will cost in-game gold, since storage and crafting might be available. Locking that behind a paywall would be P2W. However, furniture and decorations will likely be available to purchase in the crown store.

amenities will cost crowns, furniture and everything else will be traded in game. All the styles of different furniture that would turn the crown store into a catalog. Just look at all the motifs, you think there wont be a huge selection.

The houses are already in the game but not accessible. Besides, this game isn't big enough for everyone to have there own house.

I want to be able to hire NPC guards for my house to give the place personality (I need my Khajiit army on the standby). Let us dress up the guards and assign personalities to them...

This is my dream. This is what I want.

But could not they make money by selling some actual game mechanics instead of shopping? I mean, if I thought it was funny to shop for some furniture, I would go to IKEA. Would be probably even cheaper and anyway I would end up with furniture, not images of it.

It's a game... it's literally as big as they want it to be. Pocket oblivion with entire guild halls and neighborhoods...

That is highly unlikely as it will be a dlc.

You don't build a house in Elder Scrolls, you buy it or earn it. Let's keep it this way. The building part would add nothing to gameplay except more footwork.

Craftable furniture would be nice, tho.
