I agree. The chain flies to slow towards the enemy. Basically i have to cast some shield or reflect before closing the gap with fiery grip otherwise i'll die in the process of gap closing.

Can confirm that chains does not work. It hasn't really worked for months. The skill needs to be replaced with a gap closer that works. One morph which pulls enemies, one morph which takes you to enemies. Since DK DMG skills are primarily melee range, we need this to work. Especially considering 1.6 changes: it is no longer viable to use stamina on a gap closer if you are a magicka build.

However chains does work, and fairly well, a good 80% of the time , as long as we're throwing out made up percentages. But there are several instances it doesn't. This leads to the following issuses:

- You can't pull mobs "up" long distances but you can pull them down, possibly to stop keep wall hopping
- Thresholds tend to be tricky, and don't let you pull enemies. Not the same thresholds will bug out gap closers too
- there see to be unseen doors, or pathing issues out in open fields, leading to more confusion why you can't pull.
- When you pull archers or casters they will immediately back up, despite and root you have waiting.
- Folks "blink" from one spot to another, making it hard to see where to hit them, but they normally have a moment of lag when pulled as well
- hains do not refund if the person dodges or blocks the chain

Hope that clears up some misconceptions about its "weak" state.

This ability is pretty OP when working right and by someone that knows when to use it. This is one of the reasons speed runners will use it in VDSA and other trials.
