Organizing inventory is a stress relief for me since I'm a hoarder. :) Otherwise I make a new character, gear up one of my lowbies, or (like others) do some collecting while I enjoy the scenery and get some good screenshots.

Sometimes I will also go back to some old areas to see if there are any non-essential quests I skipped on my first playthrough. Some of the shorter quests are some of the funniest.

There are already plenty of great ideas on the thread. Sounds like you have a lot to deal with so I hope you find an experience that helps you unwind.

I once got kicked from a pretty tight group of players - we were in TS almost every night laughing and drinking and having fun, and then one day i was told to not use this ts anymore :( Was pretty heartbroken, got emotionally sick at work the next day, even had to leave early.

None of those fools play now, and look i'm still here doing my thing :p People who don't get us are not our kind of people, and it sounds like they just freed some of your time to make better connections and friendships <3 Use it wisely my friend, and go collect some flowers while listening and dancing to a jolly tune B)

Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

Lost a close family member earlier this year and it still hurts. But it will get better over time I promise. Just don't let idiots get to you - yes sometimes easier said than done, I know :) but in the grand scheme of things those idiots are unimportant.

All I can do is send a hug.

And do go fishing. It's a fab way to waste time. Music & fishing. Makes me smile.

Today is the anniversary of when I lost a very close family member. It was many years ago but it still hurts, probably always will, but it does get easier with time. Just take it day-by-day.

    On another note, this:

OMG. Inventory cleanup day is probably the most stressful thing for me in ESO. WHY? Because I always miss something. There's the one Rubidite cuirass I didn't deconstruct, or that monster helm I forgot to transfer to a mule. It drives my OCD tendencies crazy.

However I do agree that a clean and empty bank is a beautiful thing, I just hate getting there.

As many have said though, staying away from PUG's is generally a smart thing to do on bad days. There's a chance you'll meet some amazing people, but on a bad day, the chance of meeting some not as nice people isn't worth it ;)
    This is true.

On the flip side, there have been a couple of times when I've been having a bad day and didn't really feel like doing anything, and then a no-pressure dungeon run with friendly guildies has made my day better.

Sometimes, when bad things happen all at once it's easy to lose sight of the good in the world. Truly sorry to hear about the loss of your family member.

Try to look for the bright spots each day and remember, you have a community of caring people that are there for you....

Unless I run into you during PVP...then it's on!

    Take care,

I'm glad even the official people think quotes are hard because I sure have trouble with them.

Actually, relaxing is one reason I want to swim and climb. In Skyrim, when i just wanted to chill I would go to Riften and swim in the lake in the very early morning when the mist was still on the water. I might catch a few small fish but mostly it was just to relax. Or, I would go climb a mountain. There is one thing I do in single player to relax that can be done in ESO and that's go take a ride. I just hop on my horse and ride around looking at the scenery. I find places I haven't been before because a quest didn't take me there. It's very zen.

Hope you feel better soon, Cazzy, though healing takes longer coping is the first step.

BTW, I love the little black & white rag mop of a puppy. Is it Moo because it is cow colored?

So I'm feeling like there's a bullet in my stomach coping with the loss of a family member, foolishly I decide ESO would cheer me up. Normally it does but today I've been kicked at a final boss after 45 minutes of fighting through a dungeon, laughed at, sworn at, been trolled and kicked from a guild without knowing why xD

    If I don't laugh I'll cry. A lot.

So! What do you do in ESO to relax? Any funny stories? What have you called your pet or mount? :)

I like fishing in ESO. Realistically though, when I'm in a bad mood my chinchillas distract me and I can't focus on ESO. Here ya go...DSC00259web.jpg

Losing someone close to you is the worst feeling in the world. This past summer was one of the worst times of my life. I almost lost the love of my life because of my own stupidity. I was over protective over something stupid and it caused me to over react over dumb little meaningless things which caused her to become distant and she didn't want to be around me. Over the course of 2 months I could hardly eat and couldn't sleep well and I started getting anxious all the time because I did not know if I would still be marrying her or not. It felt like I was constantly being punched in the stomach and it even caused me to stop gaming which normally helps me during tough times. While I can't say I fully understand the pain you are probably going through right now @Cazzy because losing a family member probably hurts a hell of a lot worse than breaking up with someone but just surround yourself with the people who care and they can help you through the tough times. And from what I see here on the forums there are a lot of people here who care about you. I don't think I have ever really interacted with you here on the forums or in game but I am sorry for your loss and truly hope things get better for you.

Sorry about the family loss, Cazzy, I hope the pain eases with time as it usually does.

Judging by the other comments, it seems to me that if you're feeling low and not really in the mood for aggressive gaming then this isn't a bad place to come to. Plenty of friends here, regardless of what your opinions or their opinions may be, there's a community spirit here that you won't necessarily find in any game - which is ironic really, given that it's forged from our mutual love of the game  !

Hey Cazzy, I'm sorry your day is [self-censored]. Your presence on the forums is always a welcome one.

As for pets... I'm leveling a Breton Templar named Valentine Stowier (I probably spelled it wrong - but yes, younger sister of the banker). Who in my universe is also the younger sister of Alvard Stowier who was originally the second (partner) of my Battlemage Mol gro Durga (yes I know waaay too much about my characters).

Anyway, she and her partner/second were in Wrothgar last night/yesterday exploring a Dwemer quarry that Neramo (we all remember how thoughtful he is and NEVER has unexpected fallout from his experiments/explorations - riiigght) had discovered under an Orsimer quarry (and it's a long story which I won't go into) and she was feeling so sad because all the constructs really seem alive and they have purpose and so she was kind of apologizing to them as we swept through.

Then Neramo disables their violence protocols and she and her partner can leave.

And one of the spheres followed her out.

For morrowind fans.... she tried to figure out what he was called, and as near as she can make out (he doesn't talk, but he writes, but it's really really ancient "aldmeris"):

    Coherer Maintenance
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Not sure if it helps. It is and is not eso related. When I am down, sad and or lonley. I make up odd stories. Write them down. All my feelings on paper. Everything. All the sad, the funny the awkward. It helps me become more happy.

Everytime I do this. I feel as if I'm whole. Not a shell. But a real human being. By doing this also. As I keep writing. I get to learn more about my characters. Whom they are. What purpose do they have. What special role would they play. Most of my stories I wrote at these times of need are currently on the forums.

From these stories thta I posted on ESO forums. I fell in love with them so much. I actually made my ESO Characters based on my stories.

Princess of Dreams, Princess Justine, Dreams of Dragonwhales... They help make me feel better. They are all part of me. Not sure if this helps. But try and write stories even via text chat. Writing helps me. I to hope helps you. I am sorry also.

Sorry for your loss first of all.

When I am having a real bad day, I will go into PvP and do some of the dumbest crap I can and just laugh about it. Even though you can't do it anymore I one time look off my armor, put on a costume and did Dragon Leap/Steel Tornado into a group of like 10... (you can't do it because I did it from the top of Nikel to the front door siege) it was so hilarious because I also did Proxy (which obviously sucks on a stamDK) I died so fast but took one of them with me somehow lol.

Another time I ran around in PvP on my sorc and used primarily Trapping Webs from the Undaunted skill line and trolled sooooo many players. I also usually have my partner and my guinea pigs right to me to talk to between fights. They're awesome.

This one sneaks back to the starting island in AD and checks what all the cats are up to - I enjoy how they all have names and there is one that dashes around the town checking up what everyone is doing. I like how in each town there are little events that are easy to miss but can have you laughing out loud when you find them. Yep fishing can also be a lot of fun - pity dwemer explosives are not usable to do express fishing when one is very hungry.

Before I reply I want to say I'm sorry to hear about your relative Cazzy, loss is something you can never fully heal from. I'm still grieving over some loved ones myself so I know what you are going through. I wish you and your family well.

(This is a response to the actual quote) - Sounds like something I do but not exactly. I love some of the sceneries in Cyrodiil and I like traveling to where there are lakes, it's very calm and peaceful. But does feel lonely after awhile if alone. I set my character down on a high rock that over looks the water and I always silently wish that one day a traveler from my own alliance or anothers would come along and sit with me. Maybe we would have a chat about everyday life or whatever comes to our mind. Or have silence, I'd welcome any company. It never happened yet but it would be a nice break from war and real life stresses. I don't have any family where I currently live and just have my significant other, he works 5 days a week 6am to 7pm so interaction with players is nice to have when I have nobody around.

When I want to relax in ESO I just sit in an Inn and read what the RP'ers type, listen to the bard (if it's a bad song I kill him) and cook foods. Sometimes I play my own Big phat lewt and chat with guildies or friends.

Or, I just log out and go play battlefield 3.

Edit: sorry for you loss. when my father died 5 years ago I was playing Vanguard Saga of Heroes. After the passed away I could not bear to log in for a few months. Nothing could cheer me up in game. Instead I went more outside taking walks. That really helped me.

It's funny you mentioned pets, my pet goat Snorri always cheers me up with his inappropriate noises. He's named after the guy who wrote the Prose Edda, the big collection of Norse mythology. (This was after a big discussion about the goats that pull Thor's chariot and how their names are a bit too ungainly.) But Snorri is a boss and is the best, especially when he's making burpy noises during some dramatic dialogue.

My horse is Lydia because she carries my burdens.

My Dwemer spider is Sprocket after the dog from Fraggle Rock.

My jackal is Skitter because that's what he does.

My baby netch is Babbyganetch. (Wasn't even trying to be lore-appropriate with that one, but maybe they have baba ganoush in Hammerfell. :D)

Also I'm not sure I'd recommend Cyrodiil when you're having a bad day, but one of the best laughs I've had in ESO was running with a pug semi-zerg that didn't really know what we were doing, and we decided to attack the corner of a keep because it was already partially damaged. It wasn't until after we had knocked it down that someone pointed out that you can't get into a keep through the corner. :D It's the sort of thing that would make a person mad if they were taking it seriously, but we just thought it was hilarious (at least most of us did, and if anybody didn't then they kept it to themselves).

So I'd recommend something noobish and low-stakes where you can let loose a little and not care if it goes horribly wrong. :)

You like Dwemer stuff, right? Could always pick a Dwemer dungeon to go bum around in for a while.

It might also be relaxing to catch up on some of the stuff in the Eidetic Memory library that you always said you'd go back and read later (if you're anything like me).
