Pfft. Whatever. That may have been true in the first months following the console launch of ESO, but now we're approaching 1.5 years since the transfer. Now you're beating a dead horse, because I know of many console-only ESO players who are now worth tens of millions of gold, or even north of 100 million gold. Don't you dare tell me that that little development hasn't somehow played a role in how the markets fluctuate on the consoles.

It shouldn't be purchaseable with AP or TV. Just gold. This would keep the prices from dropping to low or getting to high.

This is the best idea BY FAR. A global auction house would result in an even worse situation because the power buyers wouldn't have to bother to look around for random low handing fruit.
But ... if there was an NPC vendor who sold tempering allows for, say, 10k each, the power buyers would be SOL.
Actually the best idea I ever heard(on another thread) was to make anything you buy from a trader non saleable. Could still sell farmed items/drops but couldn't corner the market by buying low and selling high. But for some, that IS the game and I suppose that would ruin their enjoyment.3 -

✭They have defiantly lowered the drop rate of gold materials.
And the simple reason is this the people who make the decisions about this game don't want you to have gold weapons and gear. They don't want you to have BIS set drop gear. They don't want you to be able to farm and sell gold jewelry from hard mode trials because they don't want people to have gold jewelry or make money from it. They don't want you to complete motifs and be able craft and style gear. They don't want you to be able re-style your gear so your character looks how you want it to.
They believe the sooner you find your set in perfect traits, and gold it out, and find all the motif chapters your looking for you will play less or not at all.
So they don't want it to be completely impossible but moderately to very difficult or at least a total pain in the ass allocation of time they very ok with.0 -

That's exactly what's happening on PS4-NA. I got word that every single big trader just about that always gets spots in the hot spots (e.g. Elden-Root, Mournhold, Wayrest, etc.), are flipping gold for real cash. And then having their officers sometimes buy gold with cash, just so they can secure their spots every single week. Edit: There's also ties to people who are buying the gold with cash, and selling gold for cash with people paying others to get Maelstrom clears. Something like $20 per Stormproof and being on the leaderboard for a week, $50 for a Flawless Conqueror, and $250 for a leaderboard spot every single week. Normally I don't knock on people's hustle, but n'ah. I ain't with the bs corruption happening, and huge amount of account sharing occurring. 1. Gold mats - JUST STOP. Gold gear isn't worth the hassle. I was farming for months, and am currently sitting on 200 Wax, 80 alloys, 100 Rosin and 40 Kutas. And I don't even use them. I make all my gear purple, purple enchants (except jewelry, those are gold), and you know what? I slay in PvP, have Flawless, get on the leaderboards every week, you don't need gold mats. trust me, the 10 point difference in stats isn't worth the hassle.
2. Alchemy mats: well, I'm sitting on over 500+ Columbine and bugloss, but that was over a year of farming.
I am totally for everything said. The guild traders on X1 have gotten out of control.1 -

It's worth about 200 damage per weapon going from purple to gold. I could care less about making everything else gold, though.0 -
ostrapz✭✭✭For some context to the people not on xbox and who think xbox players just ate up overpriced mats to get to this point thats not the case. 2 months ago you could get a temp as low as 8k. I cant speak on pc transfers being involved but its pretty well known some group went and bout all the temps you could find trader and otherwise over a 2-3day timespan to the point you couldnt find temps in traders. Then 1 day temps were back in the traders , instead of the 11-13k trader prices usually seen they went up to the 20k range exclusively. This all took place in a span of less than a week, and noone was aware this was going to happen but the people who did it. Since then prices have gone down from the ridiculous 25k a temp to 17k but all the other gold mats went up in price i can only assume as a result of the temp inflation. Its easy to say "why would people buy them" but other than farmers those overpriced temps were literally the only 1s on the market and overpriced or not its hard to resist buying that last temp or 2 to finish your gear or make that sword gold. Hence we are her, noone on xbox even knows what a average temp price is any moreXbox 1 NA

I will tell you one thing, when you go spend 10 hours a day running a specific route in a zone collecting mats, then you can b*tch about the high temper prices It is not fun, but it is a necessity. I've banked hundreds of alloys, wax, and rosin. I can freely make any of my weapons and armor gold. You know why? Because I devoted my time to have that luxury! You can do the same, or you can pay what price people think their time is worth. Nobody is buying up all the items in all the guild traders just to sit on them and hope they can monopolize the economy. Perhaps this occurs at some of the major trader locations, but I assure you it is not happening at every guild trader.

I farm AP mindlessly. ZOS nerfed the amount of AP required to unlock vigor and caltrops. I could care less, but that's the difference between the PVE and PVP mentality.

something ive noticed with the super grinders like you, is that they have 0 experience in pvp and pve, and yes people are sitting at traders and buying up all the low gold mats, this is what they do, all the super rich people with hundreds of millions and billions of gold come together and own traders, they make multiple accounts so they can sell more then 150 items with the 5 guild trader limit, this is some peoples job, make a billion gold, sell it for $100,000, other then monopolizing the markets i dont see how someone could have a billion gold, and yes multiple people on xbox 1 do have a billion gold, maybe not on 1 account in case one got banned for selling gold, but across all of them its pretty reasonable to believe they have a billion, so mr farmer go back into the wilderness and run in a circle for 12+ hours, ill be figuring out how to find time to run hard-mode trials, pvp, manage a job, school, and a gf and with all that i gotta find time to grind mats now just cause a few super rich idiots wanted to screw over the economyStamblade- Legate
