Gear Cap

Personally, while I'm very Pro-Gear Cap Increases, I would prefer it was higher than in increments of 10-20. I'd much rather see a gear cap of 200 introduced rather than 170 or 180.

That all being said, as I mentioned above, I'm pro-gear cap increases eventually.

I'd be fine with that if it came with itemization changes that meant that our old gear wasn't instantly trashed. For example, the ability to upgrade our 150 gear to 160, and eventually 200 or 300. If it was just a, "well, you need some mats to bring it back up to snuff, that wouldn't be a problem. Not like, "well, all those gold mats are now, officially, outdated, grind up some new stuff.

Also, same with jewelry. I know jewelry crafting is a huge bugbear, but if we're going to bump the gear cap, that stuff needs to be advanced somehow.

    No gear-cap increases thanks.

It is a lazy way of retaining players that has continued in use purely because it is easier, and cheaper, than releasing real content.

No thanks. I'd prefer ZOS spend those resources on exploring horizontal gear progression (or something similar such as spellcrafting, set bonus mix/match, spellcrafting, new mechanics at the same power level or spellcrafting) in further DLC releases.

I say no to Gear Cap Increase, ever.

If I wanted to grind my @$$ off, I would go play Black Desert Online.

Why is your 620CP limiting your from trying out new builds?
    What's wrong with 160CP gear?

You really want to "scrap" all your hard earn Legendary gear you currently have? I certainly don't.

Yes because RPG one of main element is character growth and it should never stop.

As for me, i can not any more progress skills (all maxed)

I am gaining CP but can not use them, if gear will restrict at 16CP then its another stop for me

I need motivation to continue playing and gear cap increase is major factor for character growth.

End game contents need to further expand in terms of contents, character growth and skills

Or else the game is pretty dead for experienced old player, getting different sets since an year for same 160CP is pretty much limiting now..

I have huge items for crafting new gear or ready to get new stuff whatever may require for new gear..

I understand your point of view, even though I don't share the same feeling...

That said, there are a lot of new sets that were added recently (or upgraded to CP160) and even more coming with the next DLC.

Don't hesitate to start a new character, switching one of your current character from Stamina to Magicka and or try new builds.

Personally, my main issue with having to craft new gear, if/when gear cap increases, is in part due because I mainly PVP and don't like to spent too much time grinding in PVE for gear, mats, gold, etc. A gear cap raise means I need to re-gear all my end-game character to be fully competitive in PVP. (Not cool).

I have the feeling that most PVP (and PVE too?) players feel the same about this issue.

Isn't it necessary to increase? Obviously people are happy with the cap just now but eventually with more new content coming out people will end up feeling there's too much stuff at 160

I'm 95% sure it will increase some day. Not the upcoming DLC, we all know that.
But I wouldn't be surprised at all, if the following one sees a cap increase.

I'm just not looking forward to that day (like a lot of other players).
Unless there was a way to upgrade current end-game gear to CP180, ugggh.

The only ''End-Game'' to ESO is PvP in my eyes anyway.

PvE is senselessly boring and easy now apart from maybe 3 vet trails. Leveling a char from 0-50 is a matter of hours with exp potions and scrolls and such. CP0-160 is much the same easy and fast.

Only thing is trying new chars with new builds, but playing these chars over the same repeated content is boring anyway.

ESO stance on PvP and the lack of integrity to enforce there rules when so many blatant cheaters going on for years, has shown me little growth in this game. Raising gear levels would be a temporary breath for old veteran players but then your faced with the same thing, repeated grind over boring content already played or PvP, with is exploit to win at the minute.

Would be more beneficial in my eyes to spend some resources on combating the cheating, enforcing there own TOS and perma-banning hackers/exploiters and cheaters, make PvP a fairer playing field opening up more to end game, or content that can/is different on each play.

Continually building on a bad foundation isn't logical.

I have spent a lot of time + money on this game not just for sitting @ CP 160 gear. I have on PC + PS4

If end game stop progressing then simply game is dead to move on another game

I have 12 character slots, mostly maxed (mage or stamina diffenelent classes)

People say the same in expansions on MMOs though because they're attached to their current look/gear. But usually if there was an increase in cap it would come with tons of unique gear which would always keep old players interested(though youd often see them wearing old gear sets in cities because they were nostalgic or just loved the sets) throughout my MMO experience though the increase in cap has never been the thing that people didn't enjoy

I hope it never increases. If it does, I think they need a major reworking on the amount of grind required for endgame sets. Multiple layers of RNG combined with BoP makes for months of grinding with no end in sight. I am hating doing it this first time. If asked to do it again, I'll probably just find a game with less gear grind. I'm going on a month of Wrothgar daily delves on 7 - 10 toons a day and still not a single one handed briarheart weapon to show for it. Still missing 2 Trinimac jewelry pieces and 2 Trinimac staves. Even the new loot passing system won't help me there.

A question to the dev team if they read this. How long is it supposed to take me to grind out Trinimac/Briarheart gear? Weapons specifically? Have you actually run the numbers on that because in my estimation, I'm looking at a grind on a scale of months/years to get an item. I have NO intention of doing that again if you raise the gear cap.

I agree that end content became boring in comparison to veteran Times. From perspecitive of experienced player having 7-8 characters at CP400+, tested all classes and weapon combinations, visited all areas multiple times. My 8-th alt is levelled to 20 and stopped, awaiting something like new weapon, because it's simply boring to start again the same class the same weapons the same areas and quests. Need some spears/halberds, maybe ability to toss at enemy like a Riekling style, or crossbows.
The possibility to start new characters above standard 8, purchasable by crowns - without new weapons, skills and/or class I see no reason. New armor or race is not enough.

If we won't have an option to upgrade our gear from CP160 to CP180, i will consider quiting this game. If you want your players to play this game, don't push them to farm. Just keep making new and exciting content. It feels like ZoS makes fun with players...

Doesn't update 12 scale everything and everyone anyways?
I am a little surprised this wasn't mentioned yet...
Considering what we have now and the direction of the game if they actually do increase gear cap in casual scrolls online I would not be surprised if scaled cp160 gear actually gave higher stats than cp180 gear.
My personal opinion is that I would prefer more balanced and varied sets to be added at cp160 that allowed more build diversity.
Well that and the foolish rng and trait system to be overhauled, but that's another story...
