Open Tamrial and How it Works (for PTS users)

I'm curious how those people who have the PTS installed feel Open Tamriel is working. Is the game exactly the same as it is now, only you just jump to a zone and start doing quests?

Also, what happens now when you complete Coldharbor? What has taken the place of the Silver and Gold achievements? I'm assuming you can't just go to Coldharbor.

Thanks!
Valar Morghulis.

Yes, it's exactly the same, just with open access to everywhere (except Coldharbour). Cadwell's Silver and Gold are exactly the same too.

All factions are together and areas like craglorn have you auto scaled (shows in the character sheet) to CP160. Certain zones with an area are scaled while others are not (so you'll receive the buff within the zone but won't out of it).
There are different instances to house other players since you can't have all players in one instance at the same time (speculation).
Mobs are all the same level as CP160 but have their level removed since they're all scaled as long as you're scaled.

So are there still separate silver and gold zones (I want to call them vet zones) or when you start that silver do you just go to that zone ... if that makes sense?

Currently, I have a character in silver Stonefalls. After One Tamriel drops, will that character just be in Stonefalls, or will there still be a silver and gold instance?

You'll just be in Stonefalls - e.g., you may very well see low-level characters there as well.

I think it is working rather well. There are going to be some issues of course.

For example what happens when a fresh level 6 runs into a mob of max level people farming Sun gear in a delve in Stonefalls? Kind of a bummer.

Then again, that lower level player is also given exposure to what they have to look forward to as they level, etc etc.

How does the scaling vs. not scaling work? Why are some areas not scaled?

AFAIk all arera are scaled. maybe not cyrodil tho it was scaled already, right?

i had my characters go to not only their silver and gold zones but bronze (original.) All showed the same scaling.

it was NICE to be able to have my highest levels characters "go home" or "come out of erxile" and adventure in their home territory running missions etc without having everything be useless intro grayed out overleveled by a mile crap.

As mainly a PVE player I do like that I can team with lower level friends but I dont understand how I will feel any progression if everything is auto scaled. Normally in an MMO / RPG there is a sense of achievement going back and clobbering a mob you could not defeat earlier - or opening up a new area - but since all areas are open it seems like it will get a bit monotonous

There's only one version of a zone now (no separate Silver and Gold versions) but the Silver and Gold quests themselves are unchanged (in that they unlock after the main quest). The difference is that now you may have already done all the component parts of them by travelling to those zones earlier, so you can just turn them in immediately.
