Simple solution for Radiant Oppression?

After we have seen all the nerf threads, would a simple fix make anyone happy at all? My suggestion is if a Templar uses Jesus Beam on a target > 50% health the Templar, himself/herself receive the damage instead, until they let go of the mouse button. Yes! even if the intended target went below 50% if you start RD too soon and hold the button down you would basically kill yourself. It's a L2P mechanic. Period.

Yes, I know it doesn't solve world hunger but would make some stamina based opponents smile once in awhile. Actually they might end up dying anyway as they wouldnt be able to control their character any longer from the tears and their stomach hurting from the insane laughter as hoards of Templars would implode if this was implemented, but I digress. :*

    Seriously, why do people keep bashing this skill? I don't get it... Its so frigging weird lol :lol:

    If you want to bash a templar skill, you are going the wrong way about it people. I know you all want us nerfed so very badly, because we are the only magicka class that is able to stand up against you and the stamina FOTM people right now, but seriously, you choose that skill lol its so funny.... Nerf it if you will, because RD is not the templars strongest skill in the least, and we will still be able to stand up against you, as is our right!

    And whilst on the subject, I hope that the other 3 magicka classes get a huge buff in the near future, so that they can also become as BALANCED as we are. It seems so funny to say that now, it was only a few months ago that templars were the most underpowered class in the game lol :blush:

    To create balance, templar does not need a nerf, magicka sorcerer, magicka nb and even magicka dk (despite them being the bane of my life) need a buff :blush:

    I bet you actually think this is a good idea.

    I'm lightheartedly thinking about the end result down the road, past the immediate, out of the shallow end of the pool, per se. If Zos decides to Fix Radiant does anyone think the damage component it has today will survive, we most surely think it's state today is an accident? At least I do. :| I was jesting about another way which also calms one of the biggest complaints of it's overuse. that was the point, nothing more.

    Also thinking of the potential for a nerf if/when it occurs, because if it is fixed, and the damage was untouched, I'd be fine with that. I'd of course like another LOS check after 2 seconds of the channel. Also if you care look at my past posts. I have been rallying for RD to be left alone until the Stamina Domination is balanced in any case. It's the only spell that gives Stamina players pause where they think they are likely to die. Nothing else does this on any class. Rally/Vigor and moving/dodging etc generally give them the escape they can do and is the case as well easily from everything else.

    I agree with you. Seems like a post to deflect from an actual NERF by misdirection into a L2P issue was not understood. see my response to tim.... I'm too clever for my own good apparently.

    I say reduce the range. ZOS reduce the range on DK leap but it was only for cyrodil. Why not radiant destruction? Make it stay 28 meters and let it have more range near keeps that is the only option i see.

    I have NO issue with the skill, i have an issue with the way it is used in pvp where templars run behind a wall of DD's and Tanks spamming the frigging skill... IT is one of 2 Executes that cannot be dogerolled, the other is mages wrath/fury which is soooooooo bad its not really an issue,

    At least make it line of sight, if you go behind something it should break...

    Radiant IS line of sight.

    And taking a support artillery role in the second line while others take a direct melee role in the front line is called smart teamwork. Actual militaries praise the intelligence of putting the strong ranged guns behind the front line, so your complaint is beyond daft.

    So do you think it's useful to your team to spam RD at 100%? Not doing any damage at all? I'm pro magicka competitiveness and for promoting useful play to help. Spamming multiple times while a target is at 100% is not helping was my point.

    I will say it again because people don't read. There will be many nerfs in this game unfortunetly. That said, radiant will never be one of them... Ever. You have a better chance getting hit by a meteor irl. The director of this game already said on an eso live. "We looked at the data and we like where the damage is at it is an execute it is meant to hit hard" the end. Spend your time energy and effort on something else. In the history of man there is no manager or director that is going to reverse their decision based on forum warriors or let one of their staff make changes after they had already weighed in on the issue.

    Atleast it is guaranteed damage that the stamina players aren't going to just dodge and if other people are attacking the target it can help secure the kill.

    In 1v1, RD is borderline useless and a nerf to it would also mean the end of Magicka Templar DPS, bottle-necking them into healing roles. So ZOS has to be very smart about balancing it.

    Also, if you accidentally cast RD in PvE above 50% you'll be Insta-killed by your own beam. Would be funny but bad idea hahaha.

    A seriously honest answer which I concur. In this case no different that Mages Fury. Pre-Execute by stategy as we all do it to an extent by accident or on purpose, and saves you a second or two as others get the target into execute range. This is likely the part that pisses so many Stamina build off lol. :D

    lol :lol: sometimes, on the odd occasion, if there is lag or my weapons don't swap properly for another reason, I use RD by accident instead of my rune focus, and it is SO FUNNY that from time to time the other person, even if they are at 100% health, seem to run in fear at the sight of the dreaded beam. It makes me laugh, because their skills are generally far more deadly if they are stamina, especially when they have allot of health left lol :lol:

    That is wrong. Once I have the beam up, if I lose sight then the beam stops.

    Running around rocks, I lose sight of my prey, beam stops.

    Hitting someone on a keep wall who moves backward out of my sight, beam stops. Hopefully the dot I put on them will finish the job.

    Burning limenauruus, if I move around a pillar and lose sight, the beam stops.

    Radiant is line of sight. It's not a thing that is debatable, its not situational, or a subjective opinion. It's a simple fact. To say otherwise is spreading false information. Please don't do that.
