Err have you not seen dwemer architecture and everything else dwemer? creatures ect ect. They look pretty steampunk to me.Buildings with steam mechanism, creatures with steam mechanism.I think you have to look at the art used for dwemers and re-evaluate your post :p

About mechanic dwemer mounts. They can create a huge dwemer steam powered humanoid but creating a ,lets say, steam powered horse ,its lore breaking? /facepalm

since OP asked...I would not want to see dwemer mounts or dwemer steampunky whatevers ever. I don't generally like steampunk to begin with - I DETEST steampunkmagitech. I tolerate the existence of the dwemer in Elder Scrolls lore quite happily solely because they *appear* to be steampunky...BUT THEY'RE ALL GONE AND THEY'RE NOT COMING BACK!!

and as long as that's the case, I enjoy the dwemer ruins immensely. I like that there are secretive little locales that violate the conventional norms because I trust them to NOT ACTUALLY CHANGE THE NORMS...they just get to violate the norms in these very contained, very constrained ways

but of course...ESO must have it's cosmetic doodads to sell mkittening lootboxes..*&))(@#&%)(&)&#@ING LOOTBOXES...

anyway - you asked - I don't give a furry rat's behind if they're *quasi* lore appropriate in the sense that they do exist in the world - up to this point, the only reason anything dwemer (besides basic armor and weapons) exists is to show you what doesn't exist anymore in the world, and therefore making them available to every tom/***/harry and his kid brother violently breaks the unspoken agreement that dwemer stuff is rare because THE DWEMER ARE GONE AND THEY'RE NEVER COMING BACK!!!

TIL The dwemer are a lost, misunderstood, race of steampunks.

... but they are. When I played Morrowind I imagined dwemer as lost, misunderstood race of steampunks.

Unless I missed the sarcasm, in which case I am sorry.

I adore steampunk but I don't know if it belongs in ESO :/
Yes. Yes, it does. Except it's more of a magipunk - but magic and technology go hand in hand, so it makes no real difference.

See, the thing is, the Elder Scrolls series isn't typical medievaly fantasy. It has steam automata and other mechanical marvels, airships, space battle stations, moon colonies, time-traveling robots, rogue AIs and other fun things like. The steampunky goggles you have up there? Mananaut goggles, from Reman's mananauts riding Mothships into outer space Aetherius.

ESO doesn't ruin lore nearly as often as people think. What it actually does is include pieces of weird, obscure lore that many fans are unfamilliar with. I think it's great.

Steampunk and Dwemer go hand in hand so I wouldnt mind unless they go all overboard. But I doubt that will happen. I would love a dwemer mount if it reflects the dwemer mechanics. Not a horse with gears but more a spider like mount. In Morrowind there already was a Dwemer with some kind of spider like legs mount thingie (wheelchair for fat dwemer?)....

What you mean they don't belong to ESO?

Dwemer is totally fantasysteampunk. Of course they belong to ESO.

Things can get misconstrued easily on message boards. Don't take it to heart.

I do however hope they don't start adding Dwemer senches or stuff like that. That to me makes no sense. The only kind of mount that makes sense (at least in my head) is a Dwemer spider mount or something of the like.

I can accept the goggles however as the Dwemer may have used such instruments when creating constructs.
