Balance is vague and subjective. Means different things to different people. Who is the determinant of balance. You, me, forum warriors, or ZOS with the great track record. When you say balance what does that mean to to you? When people say Black rose is OP I think no why don't we have a magic version of it. To me balance does not mean nerfs it means bringing magic up to the level of Stamina not nerfing any stamina. Stamina is fine where it is.
Any stam build can burst a malutard wearer down even in its hey day (2 months ago lol). Now its even easier. It was stam users and one v xers complaining that they could not kill everyone in 2 seconds. Now it on to BlackRose then it will be on the next thing I see valedreth on the horizon. Once all the defensive stuff is nerfed then it will be on to offensive stuff like VMSA weapons and weapon ultimate's. It just goes on and on. Every nerf has brought nothing but worse combat and game play.
Remember ult gen and aoe caps were a direct result of nerfs. Block cost nerf and dodge roll was a result of nerfs. All the snares were put on gap closer so bad players would not miss ambushes due to dodge rollers rolling out of an teleport strike. Nerfs are not the solution they are the problem. Patch after patch we take one step forward and three steps back. People complain endlessly about balance and yet I see the same thing on GW2 forum and WOW forums. Going all the way back they nerfed impulse so it barely usable anymore it used to be very powerful. Then steel tornado did all the things pulsar did. We see how that turned out. Bombard was great to OP now it it is practically useless.
I move around slower than I did a year ago with nerfs to movement speed, rapids, and major expedition. That was a nerf as well. All of these nerfs were a result of "feedback". We think its because devs do not listen, my thought is that we have the game a vocal minority asked for and it is sad. I can't even jump on a rock with out risking a slow slide down. I can't ride a horse without risking it getting insta stopped on a pebble.
