True, but jabs oftenly won't aim when you're rooted.
Just fight in the root. Or use forward momentum. If you can't turn charge a heavy attack and it will turn you. Talons is one of the most expensive abilities a dk has. With mDK if they have high damage their sustain will suck. Pop forward momentum and have him waste magicka applying roots that won't hold you.

I never noticed. Does it also work when the enemy is behind you? I'll have to try this out.

Mist form makes you immune to all snares and roots in the game. So yes, casting mist form is the counter to being rooted by talons. However, this ability is broken as far as escaping from someone with a gap closer is concerned. While the gap closer is casted, you are snared even in mist form.
this feels like a post that should of been done bout 2 years ago xD purify becuse talons costs roughly 3k+ magicka while purify costs like 1.5k~ (no clue on the actual number but i think its something like that)

It works but it's useless. Dk will step and make you charge attack again. Also u CAN turn your jabbyjab when u are in the 1st view but it 's madness.
Your purify gets rid of it.
Talons cost a lot more than purify

Neither of you have speed to create distance, and dark flare, your main ability to debuff healing is hard countered by two mDK skills (wings, deep breath to interrupt it). A good mDK will stay on top of you and interrupt any RDs, and use movement and talons to avoid you getting good sweeps on him. Because magplars lack burst without RD, burning embers and flame lash will keep him healed to full.
However, you can outheal his damage and cleanse his DoTs very cheaply. Like you said, CC+meteor+RD is your burst, but he's trying to do the same to you with better CC (fossilize).
I main a mDK. When I encounter a magplar 1v1, it ends three ways: 1. We fight for 5 minutes then put away our weapons, wave, and walk away, 2. We fight for 5 minutes and my friends or their friends show up and turn the battle, or 3. I bait the magplar into over committing to RD at low health without CC immunity.
In any event, I enjoy coming across magplars solo because when I do win (or lose), I feel like the player who won outplayed the other. It isn't this cheesy ambush+fear+incap business that is 80% of my deaths.

Loving the first option lol. It's happened to me too once or twice lol. Hate it when mates of his come along and just ruin the duel for us, often when he is running out of resources....

@Amorpho lol. When I encounter someone open world solo and it turns into a good 1v1, I'll try to drag them out of the main traffic lanes so we don't get interrupted.
