This is the right approach. Of course, additionally if I'm questing in an area and I notice people obviously grinding there, I'll make a point of doing the minimum mob-killing I need to do in the area and moving on, whether they nicely ask me to or whether they don't ask. It's only when they're actively rude that you should mess up their grind. I suspect that's what you do too @nine9six. "Hey, we're grinding and were wondering how long you anticipated being here?"

In Auridon at that village where the inhabitants are turned into stone and the wolves and bears are under daedric influence? That's a well known grind spot for XP and mats, but it's really dickish of grinders to not allow questers there to grab a bear here and there. In cases like that, you should politely ask them to let you complete the quest so that you can move on. I suspect most people would be fine with that and let you do what you need to do. If they ignore that or if they reply in a rude fashion, that's when you wreck their farming. Maybe ask all of your friends to come and descend on the area until they give up and log.AntMan100673 wrote: »Only problem I ever had personally was on a quest where you had to hurt (and not kill) a couple of bears. It shouldn't be, and I believe for most grinders it isn't. But there are always a few bad apples who get pissed off at anyone interfering in any way with their grind as if they own the mobs...timidobserver wrote: »The only situation where I can understand it is if someone is grinding a rotation and someone else shows up and interrupts the rotation to start grinding themselves. I'm a pve'r and just working through the areas as I lvl up.
Came across a quest area today and two lower lvl players were grinding mobs. One was getting owned quite a lot.
I joined in with heals thinking they needed help. I then got told to 'move away from here'. I ignored them and just continued my quest line. They clearly didn't want me there as any characters I had to kill as part of my quest they just jumped on. I eventually left as my quest took me away but I've never seen that before. Was quite surprised at how defensive people can be over 'their mobs'
Hmm, could be, but I've never heard of anyone grinding those bears. Given how far apart they are from each other, I wouldn't have thought it would be viable, but it's not exactly something I've ever tried. This is the right approach. I think they are talking about that quest in Grahtwood where there are literally just two bears and there is no way around it. The one about Sheogorath. The bears on the quest you mentioned do not respawn immediately, unlike the ones on that Grahtwood quest.

Well that's just super annoying... If you're trying to quest there and grinders won't let you grab the bears for the quest, I'd say they could be reported for griefing. But, of course, only after you politely ask them to let you complete the quest, and only if they refuse.Hmm, could be, but I've never heard of anyone grinding those bears. Yeah, there was a thread a while ago about people farming them. Because they respawn as soon as they die, people just camp one of them.
Worst part is, this quest is part of the main quest of the area.

The goal is to reach max level as fast as possible, with as few skill points as possible. Then when you've done that, you get to go back to the beginning and run through all the low-level zones collecting skyshards until you die of boredom.
I would not even respond to their requests... just ignore them and continue on my way. What are they going to do about it?kevlarto_ESO wrote: »When I am passing through doing a quest, if I get a whisper telling me to leave, I tell them I am just doing the quest be out of here in a sec, if they keep pressing the issue I remind them I paid for the game to, and their names are not on these mobs, that complaining to me has caused me to be in the area longer, most of the ones I encounter were ok with me telling them be out of here in a sec, I have encountered only a couple of real jerks that thought the mobs were exclusive.
If i get a single hate whisper that is a guarantee I will follow them for hours until they leave or log off. I have played 2 years five months i can grind toon to 50 in 6 hours anytime and have 11 toons leveled. I was in old orsinium and a Templar and sorc whispered me to move and I tagged every kill they made for the next several hours. I was actually going the opposite way until the whisper.
