BOP and BOE Items Cause less player interaction and doesn't make sense.

I think the title of the thread is misleading people . Crafters are not punished by this and it's not a "big deal" but being able to go to a crafter to upgrade your favorite weapon is canon and lore friendly . It also would add a level of immersion for those wanting to be the blacksmith or woodworker in town improving people's weapons . Also would interaction with crafters more personal instead of through markets all the time .

Those were my only points and not speaking for OP .

My point is people shouldn't have to level their crafting up. You can say it's part of the game but it really shouldn't be. I will say again, in a fantasy universe not everyone is a Blacksmith, Tailor etc.

You don't have to level it. You can pay a much higher price if you choose. You are not entitled to the discount that others earn.

I think this hits the nail on the head.

Another solution would be to play with a crafter, and have them improve it before the timer runs out on being able to trade BoP items with group members.

Now I'm curious if that would actually work.

Equipment being bound is normal and common for MMOs. It's just life.

Also, and more importantly, it's simple to level up the crafting for the three weapon/armor lines and only takes 9 skill points total to max out the upgrading passive.

It's so simple and easy that it's kind of rediculously someone does not have at least one character maxed out for upgrading equipment.

Wouldn't it be amazing if we could play a game where there was no such thing as BoP or BoE... What would that be like?

Lol. OPs point has nothing to do with hindering player interaction and everything to do with an example of s played to lazy to upgrade 3 lines and spend 9 points.

Edit: and @Bryanonymous has a good point, a Player doesn't even need to level up the lines ans spend the skill points to upgrade their gear. Simple as that.

Also, I have a friend who recently hit CP 160. He had around 250,000 gold. I have no idea why you think people who hit Gear cap have Millions of Gold.

You're not doing content that obtains you end game BOP gear at CP160 unless you're getting dragged along and you know it. Your fictional situation was clearly in reference to something that would take place in a 500+ CP environment.

The number of posts lately that can be summarized with "I play end game content and it's unfair that I have to (fill in blank) to do something is waaaaaaaa!" has risen exponentially.

maybe you should set up a post with this title, and eveyone can post in that instead of starting a new thread!

Traits and motifs are plenty to separate a crafter from a player who leveled up a craft for the skill points. There is no excuse for being too lazy to decon junk.

So many other things could fall into the unrealistic category, such as infinite lives, however it's a game. Please, if you're going to cite realism... Please start with the invincible guards.

No excuse for being lazy ? What if a player puts in tons of work ingame on PvP and plays the game for the content they enjoy and got Emperor and Grand Warlord titles . That takes a lot of time and work . What if they said you were lazy for not getting alliance rank up and everyone should have to do that at least to Tyro to be able to hold a weapon and unlock a weapon ability ?

This is called blocking content to play styles and no players like to be forced to do something they don't like just to be able to level thier gear or get an ability . It's lazy grind style development .

Cmon man. There are exactly zero Grand Warlord type players who don't either have personal crafters or a guildmate that can craft for them. And if that person does exist, they SHOULD BE FORCED to spend some time crafting to get what they want. Half the reason some really good PVPers are 20 ranks below Grand Warlord is because they took time away from PVP to learn the things down the line.

Anyone complaining about this should have better thought out what is needed to continually play end game content other than, "but it's what I enjoy!"

@Mashille This is another one of those threads that starts to feel like it wants the game dumbed down.... The days of entitlement..

So.. You don't think someone should have put effort Into a skill line to get the benefits? Should everyone get Meteor? And detonation? It's unfair the hours spent on those skill lines by your metric no?

And put it this way :-

    1. You CAN send Bind On Equip items to a friend to upgrade. Just not once worn, so there is a way to do it
    2. You CAN still upgrade bound items it just costs you 20 per piece Instead of 8 (just trading time for gold really aren't you)
    3. You could risk the chance of still using 8 Gold.
    4. You could decon mob gear as you go, and level the skill to L50 (your example the person probably sold all their mob loot on the way up, which is as many button presses as Deconing gear AND they prob have all that gold from it for option 2)

By the way 250,000 gold is a huge amount. I mean seriously. I craft a d trade and don't have that. What on earth is he going to spend it on, if he has his perfect gear he wants gold why the heck not just buy tempers!!!

So in this instance the game gives your options, you just want a mega shortcut that would defy the point of leveling a skill....

I'm not saying I want the game dumbed down, not at all. And crafters do not lose anything from the lessening of BOP and BOE items.

Crafters gain far more from this as if there are a number of players who do not wish to craft it means the demand for Crafters increases as it is easier for people to pay a Crafter an amount rather than using a large amount of Tempers.

The reasons of 'They should just deconstruct stuff to level up their crafting then do it, no excuse for being lazy' doesn't make any sense when paired with 'It means crafters did work for nothing'. This is because existing Crafters gain nothing from yet another player levelling up crafting to improve an item, yet they do gain something from someone paying a small amount for them to improve something of theirs.

Talking about what people do at CP 'End game' here is not relevant as what people do varies greatly. There are people who spend their time only PvPing, or simply questing, or fishing. So talking about how it's only relevant in CP 500+ content is irrelevant here.

And again the entire concept of 'Well he should just level his crafting, it's easy'. That doesn't matter and doesn't relate to the situation at all. The entire problem of the situation is that it means that every single player either is a crafter or is 'lazy and should become a crafter'.

I have said this many times now but not everyone in a fantasy world should be a Blacksmith, Woodworker, Alchemist etc as that would mean there would be no consumers to use the services of the Crafters as everyone would be able to do it themselves. This would give Crafters more not less.

If someone has a Sword they own that they would like improving and have had for a while it doesn't make any sense hat they can't take it to a Blacksmith and ask for it to be improved for a sum of Gold.

In order to use the crafting system effectively you need to level up your crafting skill

    Huh

    Weird.

You guys are missing the point is most MMOs you can trade skills as a means to make money here we are limited to making money as long as it's not BoP or you don't don't put it on. That's a poor design choose.

Point is if you have to do it all yourself then why not just go in solo and solo players don't stay as long as players with friends. There could be a way to "hire" a crafter to improve your item.

not hard to level up and normally well done by end game if we have an ounce of foresight.. then it's only 3-9 skill points to improve your own armour.. not really that bad is it?
