Getting highscores for Maelstrom is so painful on Console

Every time I go into Maelstrom I always come full of excitement and confidence that I'll beat my previous score..... until a blue screen or screen freeze happens.

I'm literally pulling my hair out every single time I go inside because I have to pray to RNG that I don't blue screen on Stage 2 or upon entering Stage 6 or 7. It's ALWAYS these 3 stages that do this. Stage 2 just has god awful FPS. Stage 6 and 7 always have a chance of giving me a blue screen for just entering the arena!!

Each run is the same. I go in, and speed run the first 5 stages, then hope nothing happens to me. If it does crash, I just become really upset and I lose the incentive to continue going.

Please just let me beat my 568k score.

568k is a pretty good score dude. Some people haven't even hit 500k at all.

Still miffed at how someone is doing it in under 40 mins. I swear there is more loading time in there than that.

From what it seems, on PS4 anyway, you need a really high score to be on the leaderboard.

Regarding lag and crashes, you are not the only one

I get the blue screen crash at different stage. (Unlike you I already got blue screen crash at stage 1 & 9)

But worst, than the crashes is probably the lag.
Yesterday it was lagging so much for me, that I died 3 times on the last boss alone.
Had to spam Ultimate 3-4x times to actually go in overload, liquid lighting was taking a full 2 seconds before appearing, or wasn't actually working if I switched bar a tad too fast....Shield taking a good 1 second before going up, overload light attacks not firing, etc.

It feels like I have like 15-20 FPS on average, at the most.

It's astonishing how much it can lag in there. For this very reason, I probably never will attempt a Flawless or a High score run. I just roll with it for the end chest, Taking Sigil left & right if needed be.

It's just frustrating to have to stop your run because of the lag.

A potential fixe.. Couldn't they let you continue your high score / flawless run if you log back in vMA in less than 10 minutes, say after a crash?

Its only about 9 minutes of loading and waiting for spawns

They do allow that. You have 5 minutes from the time you crash to get back in there. But, if you crash mid round there is a pretty good chance that you will die before your character logs out thus resulting in a death. Also the timer keeps going even when you're not logged into the game so you want to get back in there a soon as possible in order to lose as little score as you can.
