Tips and Techniques for Proper Teabagging

First let me qualify the discussion by saying this is my first mmo and my first exposure to teabagging (nice historical wrap in this article: http://theballreport.com/the-history-of-teabagging-in-video-games/). After seeing it once or twice it didn’t take me long to realize that the practice irked me on a couple of different levels.

From my perspective - I think how you treat your opponents states more about you than your opponent; plus, there’s like a million emotes for letting someone know how you feel (standing over someone who tries to gank you and laughing over their body seems pretty effective for getting the point across) – so, I look at teabagging as being kinda too lazy and dumb and come up with something else.

Fortunately despite my advanced age (50ish) :) - I can still appreciate that I may not always be right (for some reason my 70ish mom and teenageish god daughter both share the unflappable belief that what they think they know is absolutely correct – so, I’m thinking it’s an age thing shared by both young and old – and, it’s only during the middleish phase of life that you realize you don’t really know everything).

So, I’m wondering – is there a place for teabagging? Is it really not that big of a deal? Are there certain scenario’s where teabagging is acceptable? Is it simply an effective way to taunt and throw off your opponent? Are there any special tips and techniques for teabagging?

I know it’s a little weird – but, I’m definitely interested to hear this community's feedback on the subject…plus – do you have any favorite emotes for sharing your displeasure with others both friend and foe?

Only teabag your opponent when they outplay you, but eventually lose due to others joining the fight and x v 1'ing them down.

    THIS IS CRUCIAL!

Just kidding of course, I have never actually teabagged anyone in any game ever. But you are correct that it speaks to that persons general ability to respect others. But that's just me. I hold myself to the same standards online that I do if I were right next to that person. Anything else is cowardly imo, since showing disrespect to someone face-to-face invites actual consequences for you, but not so much in an online game.

That said, teabagging between those who know eachother/friends is pretty funny, but of course it means something else in that case.

Remember that it is a gentle action.Every action has an equal an opposite reaction. so treat it as more of a kiss than a slap. Otherwise, you may injure your bag.

I usually pour the water in first then let the teabag soak. A good time is about 4 minutes. Then I add 1 and a half tsp of sugar and milk. Deeeeelicious.

I don't even do that. The way I see it, I took their life away. There is nothing else left for me to gain from sticking around the corpse. The biggest insult to the guy was taking his life, to do anything more beyond that can be seen as disrespectful.

I taco dip, to express my disrespect for someone's behavior or playstyle.

Sometimes I also just jump on the corpse. I'm not proud of it, but sometimes it just has to be, so that this person may start playing fair and adjust his playstyle.

    Reason I will teabag someone:

    1. If you've ever sent me a hate tell its automatic. I'm not angry, I just like farming salt from players I know get overly excited in a video game. If I die I absolutely never send hate tells, no matter if its obvious bugs are being exploited or not, so if you send me a hate tell you're getting tea bagged every time I kill you.
    2. When you try to gank me with 4 people from stealth and don't kill me, automatic bag.
    3. When I kill your friends and you turtle up waiting on them to run back and you all die again, bag.
    4. Anyone running Malubeth.
    5. Anyone who kills me Xv1 then teabags me is getting it in return when I catch them.
    6. Zerglings.
    7. Allies that died.
    8. "leet small group players" who just like to Xv1 randoms to feel like they're tough.

I avoid teabagging most opponents. I may do it if I was sent ragey tells by that person ahead of time or they complain about something I'm doing that they don't like for whatever reason. I typically go with a coordinated sweep emote from myself and groupmates to get the point across.

I was grouping with some guildies this weekend running the IC district and sewers. We were deep in red territory when a zerg of reds tried to take us out but we managed to kill them all. I turned around to notice one of my guild mates tea-bagging a fallen red. I was ashamed. After all, we were in their sewer.

    Khajiit is confused.

Is it normal to offer the steeped drink of reconciliation to the defeated enemy?

If so this one was denied this courtesy on the many occasions she was flattened to the ground while trying to make a simple shopping trip in the Imperial City.

But in IC, Zenimax has added a Tbag cooldown. There is a rotating 10s timer before you can release, so that people can tbag you. That's why they added that

We were in the Aetherian Archive Trial on the final boss, and one of the DPS got taken out by one of the axes.

His friend promptly dropped all DPS to teabag him, and was immediately one shot by the exact same axe.

The whole incident in all its 15 seconds of glory was recorded via Xbox by the first DPS.

I personaly did not teabag until few weeks ago, but i lost my patience and i teabag specific types of people.
When i kill NB gankers sneaking around, killing people from stealth, I teabag them. They deserve it.
Last time i teabag two guys, they were hiding behind guards at Roe farm, trying to snipe me and lure me into guards. I managed to kill them. I had to teabag them.
Basicly I teabag people who fight without honor and use dirty cheap tricks. Those kind of opponents dont deserve respect.

But when someone shows honor, for example wait for me to get off horse, i always /salute him if i kill him, of course. Those kind of people deserve respect!

For me, I make sure I never lose sight of the fact that its a game and I'm intentionally being juvenile by tea bagging someone. I mostly reserve it for try hards and neckbeards that take the game far too seriously or who knowingly do things to try to ruin other people's gameplay.

Its not malicious so much as "I can be a punk, too"

However, if you're in my group(I only play with my wife and a select few friends) and you die in a situation you shouldn't have you're 100% getting a bag, even if I die for it, totally worth it

I just keep a list for situations like these.

I got 1v2 and died last night. Found the annoying MagDK with his 17 man ball group minutes later. Proceeded to mercilessly destroy him.

Found him again 5 minutes later, and rinse repeat. 1.0
