    Hmm, so 5-piece Necropotence, 5-piece Trinimac's and maybe 2-piece Maw of the Infernal to get an extra daedric pet? That sounds fun...

    That's only possible when you run sword and shield or dual wield.
    I tried it during the last few days and respect to all dual wield sorcs, but they are nerfing themselves. It's not viable at all.
    Maybe when you play in a group, but everything is viable when you have allies.
    I haven't specifically tried dual wield on a magicka sorc, but I run it on a couple of other magicka characters (on a Nightblade and on a Dragonknight), and it's very viable on them for both solo and group play. The extra piece (allowing an extra bonus from a set) combined with the increased damage offsets the disadvantage of not using a staff on a magicka character. Of course, you can run a staff on your back bar anyway (which is what I do) and get the best of both worlds. You just pick which 5-piece bonus you're OK with not benefitting from while you're on your back bar. In this proposed setup I'd want it so that I lose the Trinimac's 5-piece when I swap to staff.

    Strongest pet build is definetly just not using them at all.... But the Matirach healing is really good, so a healer build will work (up to the content that matters where it might randomly die, you can't heal burst anymore and your group kicks you and replaces you with a templar).

    What 2 free skills do you pet sorcs use? Pets take 2 slots, 1 for ward to keep them alive...what do you slot when using a resto staff?

    I'm thinking of making a altmer sorc that uses both pets and a resto staff but I'm not sure how viable it is when not in a group.

    @Vigarr

    I would put Crushing Shock on one for damage and a ranged Interupt. For the other skill, wow, lots of things, but a little Liquid Lightening to put down on the mob the Clanfear is Tanking would be quite effective.

    thanks @ nestor but I'm trying something different and running resto staff on both bars. For damage I'm trying mages wrath to quickly zap from a distance which tends to proc crystal frags just in time for the mob to get in my face.
