pointless responce to a post. nice going, anyhow i personally use to use light armor with fire destro/restro. the pets do more then enough to keep you alive for the most part and the tank is nice with clanfear. as for CP i would say Mana based things as well as light armor and healing recived.

Trinimac's Valor is quite useful for keeping your pets alive while you spam Hardened Ward. The pets are just so weak and die too quickly in a lot of end-game content without Trinimac's.

And it can come in jewelry so you can pair it with another set or a crated set.

You get it from rewards crates for doing the Wrothgar world boss dailies and delve dailies. As you can do all of the world boss dailies each day, but only 1 delve daily each day, if you want to farm them (and you'll have to, because they're bind on pickup) your best bet is to focus on the world boss dailies. You can also get them from treasure chests around Wrothgar, but that's pretty uncommon. A Wrothgar treasure map has a much better chance of giving you one of the Orsinium DLC dropped sets than a treasure chest does.

What works for me is wearing heavy armor julianos with the daedroth set, and my CP distribution is as follows.

Warrior - half physical damage reduction, half spell damage reduction.
Thief - Magicka regen maxed out then spell cost reduction
Mage - max elemental perk, then dump into extra healing done

Do these things, you will do enough damage while having considerable self healing potential. Add in spells that ensure crowd control and field control, and practice switching your pets' targets, you'll be good.

I really wanted to use pets with my sorc, but the thing is pets can be the worst, and yet the best thing ever. I followed the daedric shepherd build, but added my own twists to it. I don't use the armor shown, I use
Syvarra's Scales does some good damage, and looks cool hahaha. I noticed when you have pets your more of the stun person do damage later allow pets to distract and heal Its great when you have 1 or two people, when you are in a zerg your pets tend to wonder off and attack different targets which can use a lot of magika to summon them back each time they die.

Someone's doing something wrong (or not using Hardened/Empowered Ward at all) if pets are dying in endgame content: the only endgame content my pets have died constantly in is Vet ICP's Gravelight boss, which I believe is bugged. My pets made it fine through Vet Sanctum Ophidia.


But anyway, OP, it depends what kind of pet build you want to do: Necropotence is the "Sorc summons only" build, as Sorc summons only scale with Max Magicka and nothing else. The best you can do there is max out Magicka in every bit of armor, weapon, etc and go to town.


Personally, I went the "Summon all the things" method: Sorc summons, Maw of Infernal (Monster set), Morkuldin (crafted set). Pretty much just use the basic Daedric Summoning skills, use Empowered Ward to give them a shield and we're off to the races. With a staff you've still got 4 spaces left to use for other sets (4-peice Necropotence is what I'll try and put there), but if you wanna go insane with it can dual-wield as a Sorc and get Necropotence 5 peice in there as well (giving you +2 extra pets AND +4000 max magicka with gold Necropotence). I'll be experimenting with that, probably just for the lulz later.

I haven't tested actual DPS but it's been fine (probably a little slow) for all group content I've ever done (all Veteran Dungeons, all Trials, Vet Sanctum): burst DPS is atrocious as a pet build but sustained just never ends.


A quick note for pet/summon scaling:

- Maw of Infernal and Morkuldin scale with the Mighty CP tree, any passives that boost psychical damage and armor improvement
- Sorc Summons scale with Max Magicka only and aren't effected by CP or anything else

5pc necropotence, 3/4pc aether, 3pc willpower.
I would go destro/restro but destro/dual swords is viable. Get the Thief mundus, all gear divines, all jewelry arcane, all weapons sharpened, all attribute in magicka.
This build will make you able to survive most endgame content...
The deadric Shepherd build is also pretty good and you can get a lot of information out of it!

Hahaha I was thinking of your pet sorc @Transairion when I was reading this thread and here you are!

One build I've seen that hasn't been mentioned here that might be worth a look is "The Unholy Herdsman", last updated 2 months ago. It gives a possible CP distribution and uses crafted gear (Magnus' Gift and Torug's Pact), it might be somewhere to start.

On PC there is a shortcut called "Command Pet" under controls that defaults to Control Y (and it doesn't seem to be able to be changed to a 1-key press, sadly).

I don't know if there's a command for console though

I would love to know this too!

Go to your key bindings, go to the command pet key to find out what it is (i think default y)

To do pet commands, hold this key down. Hit your attack mouse button to have them attack your current target. Hit block to have them come to your side and become passive.

What 2 free skills do you pet sorcs use? Pets take 2 slots, 1 for ward to keep them alive...what do you slot when using a resto staff?

I'm thinking of making a altmer sorc that uses both pets and a resto staff but I'm not sure how viable it is when not in a group.

For full pet build im thinking along the lines of having as many monsters at ur disposal as possible. Try the crafted set that spawns a sword, the monster set that spawna a daedra, u can spawn 2 pets with a sorc, i would go for the matriach and clanfear and for ur ulti, u get the storm atronach

That's only possible when you run sword and shield or dual wield.
I tried it during the last few days and respect to all dual wield sorcs, but they are nerfing themselves. It's not viable at all.
Maybe when you play in a group, but everything is viable when you have allies.

I would put Crushing Shock on one for damage and a ranged Interupt. For the other skill, wow, lots of things, but a little Liquid Lightening to put down on the mob the Clanfear is Tanking would be quite effective.
