Are the zergers salty you can't use the excuse "this game is made for group play" after update 12?

    I guess I never really thought about it but I suppose there's people who literally aren't ever un-grouped, and I'm one of the main people that it drives crazy that there's so little coordination or strategy in PvP.... and spend a lot of time figuring out new ways to break apart stupid bomb train blobs. I wish we still taught people how to dismantle this idiotic tactic.

    Dueling will be fun for the first week or two then its back to Cyrodiil fighting for all like what happened with Imperial City.

    Can you Imagine a duel between 2 tank templars or any other sustain class? 20+mins fighting with the same skills over and over. No thanks ill just continue to do my own solo thing in Cyrodiil

    TIL zergs don't have Templars spamming Breath of Life constantly.

    Lol, current meta is HA S&B Templars turtling while spamming BoL and RD, NBs spamming Incap as if it were SA, Perma roll/dodge builds, and generally HA high damage perma sustain. Such a rubbish, toxic meta. I never really cared too much for arenas and dueling as I could simply head to the Arena District for duels, but now I am really looking fwd to it. Tho I can already predict a prevalence of high dmg, high sustain HA S&B Templars rocking Malubeth, and if I see that I am simply going to walk away from the duel. Not saying these players can't be beat, but that build isn't about skill; any scrub can rock it and feel competent.

    I've long been pro adding dueling so long as they don't try to balance classes for 1v1. Balancing classes for 1v1 will make a horrible mess of things and will generally be a fool's errand.

    The main reason why it would be foolish to try to balance classes for 1v1 is that there are many ways to play each class. People who play it one way will complain that it is underpowered while people who play it another way might be really powerful. There may be a class that is across the boarder weaker, but you can't really differentiate that from the people who want to do everything with a bow-based Argonian stam sorc.

    Agreed.
    There are simply wayyyyy too many ways to play each class to take a nerf/buff approach.
    It has to be caps, or some other system that applies equally across the board.

    Update 12 won't change anything about zergs in Cryodiil keep crying about them..

    It's funny when 'solo' players head to a keep thats under attack then complain about zergs...plenty of open space in that map.

    I don't understand why some people complain on Zerg's. Cyro is not a solo map! It's supposed to be armies of alliances going at each other.

    Zerging is a form of group play. If u cant 1vx a zerg, then dont.

    It's still about group play. They're adding dueling, not shutting down Cyrodiil.
    Dueling will have 0 effect on game play in in Cyrodil. It will not even have any effect on "balance" going forward to be honest. What it will effect is popular towns where people gather to bank, socialize, etc. will have to put up with duels, constant challenges (I really hope there will be an "ignore duel requests" setting) and some of the wonderful poisonous chatter that infests PvP
    What about all those players who only go to Cyrodiil because it's the only place they can duel other players? oh yes it's not going to change gameplay in Cyrodiil, not at all...
    Those players are a smaller percentage, and the addition will affect them more than it will Cyrodiil. I don't know about the others, but I usually feel bad when my group over runs a group of duelers.

    Damn, I get into these long fights now with my tank versus solo gankers. If I have a half hour to spare, and feel like trolling, I'll leave duel invites on.

    And honestly, that's an issue I think OP is missing. Are they really going to balance this system, tweak duel battle spirit against sustain build stalemates and the like? I expect them to just toss it out there, "there's your dueling, now work it out for yourselves", and just walk away.

    If you think just because they are giving player dueling they are going to balance classes for 1v1 you are going to be disappointed.

    For the record this game was created for group and Zerg combat.

    Just because something was originally created for a purpose 2.5 years ago doesn't mean times don't change.

    Does anyone actually like zerging? Apart from the 531 baddies who 2.5 years later still don't know how to play the game effectively because they haven't stopped outnumbering players since release.

    Your honestly telling me people find outnumbering opponents in the lag fun? How is that fun? You could literally light attack people to death in zergs and nothing would change. There is no skill, there is no challenge.

    Even zos aren't keen on zergs, hence why they keep telling people to 'spread out' and are putting in objectives such as towns to try and spread people out, too bad people aren't confident enough to actually pvp without numerical advantage.

    Found a group in IC today, around 10 yellows, 8 of them were magicka templars, 1 stam blade and 1 mag blade, both the stam/mag blade never had heals on their bar because i caught them on there own like 5 mins later and killed them both within 5 seconds because they rely on being in some aids group of magicka templars and receiving the OP BoL heals.
