Old Orsinium... What's the deal???

imdas
imdas
What the deal with almost everyone grinding in old orsinium being huge pricks? When you ask to group up most people just give you the finger and when you're in a group there's a few other groups in there and then it just becomes a pissing match between the groups. There's plenty of XP to go around idk why almost everyone has to be severe jerks about grinding. I'm on Xbox NA and in EP.

My first time going there recently I was amazed at how people were grinding it. Everytime I saw a huge pack of bears or mobs together I'd just run over real quick and Steel nado them in 1 or 2 shots to troll the grinders.

I guess that grind spot would help for new players though, because there is a lot of mobs but they're all pretty weak.

Well one of the perks of One Tamriel is that a zones will be scale. That mean all public dungeons could be good spots to grind instead of just the public dungeons in Wrothgar.

That is why I grind that place only at Odd Hours.

Besides, there are other places to grind. If your looking for Hides, there is are a couple overland spots in Wrothgar that are just as good. And, I have found that base content public dungeons can be just effective in farming CPs. Of course if OO was empty, it gets the nod, but compared to a populated OO, almost any CP160 scaled Public that is empty will gain you CPs just as fast. Heck, I gained half a point (so 380K Exp) this morning in 20 minutes in the Vile Manse. And, I was in there to farm gear for decon, not champ points.

Then, there are the overland mob grind spots in the base game that everyone knows about.

So, OO got other players, find a better place to grind. In fact, I like that everyone grinds in OO, it leaves all those other places for me to have to myself.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

ZoS was very proud of their no-camp-ownership system at release. They touted the fact that if you add another player to your group, your xp will go up! When people realized that they meant your group of one, and no camp ownership meant you couldn't plan to do anything in this game that wasn't instanced, many people left the game.

It's actually too much to say that the no-camp policy alone drove them out of the game, because soooo many things were broken back then, but the rage was real.

The changes made to make botting unrewarding only made it that much worse.

last time i popped in there on a max level character, to pick up the skyshard & group event i got SOOOOOOO much h8 from grinders!

i decided it was something to do with the curse (that is the base of the quest in there) that caused everyone to turn into jerks!

This is why maelstrom is the best grind sport. Every add is yours to kill. 5 linings / solvents per run ( I've just sold 85 for 70k, and 100 linings for 80k) you finish with a huge supply of gems, ornate items.and about 30k in your pocket alone if you just wear the same level 10 gear all the way through to level 50. It's that easy and good.

i did this for my latest alt, with the exception that at level 45 i ran through the harborage quests (for skill points) wearing a full set of succession i had picked up while in there!

i liked it & can see its potential,
i highly doubt its better than other sets available & since i dont have a full CR160 set (in decent traits) to test it properly i can only guess other sets are better, but it certainly did the job on my baby. LOL
& it was better than the level 10 training gear i had, (just wanted those skill points fast ya know!

I would not go to Old Orsinium just for XP, there are better places for that. But if you're looking for rubedo leather, it's the best place. The XP is just a bonus.

If you just want XP, go to Rkindaleft or Cracked Wood cave.

There are also very good outside spots where you can kill a lot of mobs.

Anyway, grinding XP is so boring. You might as well play the game and get your XP that way.

OO is the best for leather and xp hands down. Red meat, gold, and motifs are a plus.

Once you "own" a rotation in there it is pretty hard for someone to mess with your xp because you are always ready for the next spawn sequence.

I can farm 2000 scraps in 4 hours or less and I'm very content with that rate.

I personally like grinding and I knew cracked wood was good but I didn't know if it was as good.

That's why I always pick other spots to grind. Famous ones tend to be overcrowded meaning less enemies to kill, therefore leading to less exp and less rewards. Tamriel is huge and there are lots of other places that no one visits that have numerous mobs one next to the other with a reasonable spawn time.
