Do you agree the RACE CHANGE (30 dollars) should cover changing your race to ANY race?

I couldn't turn my previous thread into a poll so I'm creating a new one to get a good idea of how the community feels about this. Anyone who just wants to change their race 1 time to a optimal race, will have to pay 60 dollars for additional create cross-faction races content just to do so.

The 3000 crown race change, only allows you to change races in the faction you are in. If you want to change to any race (as the product implies) you need to spend an additional 30 dollars for the Cross Faction Races. This means, anyone who wants to optimize their build (the whole purpose of race change) will need to pay extra money if they haven't already to get access to change their race to any other race. My argument before this even hit public servers was: The 3000 crown race change should include a temporary cross-faction race access so players can change to the race they actually want. Paying for the actual cross faction races content allows you to CREATE an infinite number of cross faction characters. So there is no comparing the two, or making the claim since someone else paid for cross faction race CREATION, only they should be given access to CHANGE RACE to any race... The point is that 3000 crowns (30 dollars) should cover a cross faction race ability since they are paying 30 dollars off the bat just to change 1 characters race.

Nobody who doesn't have money to waste is going to pay 60 dollars (same price a brand new games) just to change their character to an optimal race for their build or RP. This is a ridiculous price gouge by ZOS and will only have a chance of being changed if the community demands it.

Edit: Of course most people disagree, I just want to point out: DO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT RNG BOXES if you have voted to disagree.

    Neither.

Some things aren't worth paying for at these listed prices. IMO even tho I've spent more, this particular issue is overpriced.

Consider when the game first was announced and in closed beta, factions was an account based thing. To me it should've stayed that way.

It's often a PvP topic but for PvE....there was the play any race offer so I don't fully understand why anyone would pay now cause racial Passives once changed will change again for he mere fact that it's now a paid service and ppl are really unhappy or overjoyed with the changes.

Everyone who disagrees I would like an argument to be made on your behalf.

    To clarify:

Joe has no extra content, he wants to change his race for an optimal build. He pays 30 dollars for 3000 crowns to find out he cannot change to the race he wants, he is then told he needs to pay an additional 30 dollars for the ability to CREATE cross faction races.

If you disagree, you are saying you believe joe should pay 60 dollars (brand new steam game) just to change one characters race to his race of choice.

If you agree, you are saying you believe joes purchase of the 3000 crown RACE CHANGE should cover changing to ANY race at that time.

Disagree 100% the cross faction creation is limited to people who bought the explorers pack and should stay that way. Besides the fact that it would be more work for ZoS since all the race change token does is allows you to access the character creation menu. Also race does not impact game play that much and every build will work for every race. As for the rp side, just roll a,new character if you want to rp as a different race, it's not difficult and when one tamrial hits you can rp with people of any faction.

I've already addressed the argument you're trying to make. The explorers pack allows you to CREATE CROSS FACTION RACES indefinitely... RACE CHANGE implies you can change your race, it does not imply you are still limited to that faction you created your character in. If that's the case, why would the price of it be half that of a brand new game (30 dollars) and more than two DLCs combined.

It's price gouging, now please make a sound argument if you want to disagree.

People paid extra money for the explorers pack so they could play any race on any faction. They still have to pay 3000 crowns to change races. Why should someone who doesn't have the explorers pack only have to pay 3000 crowns to be able to do what a person who pays 3000 crowns + explorers pack can do?

Years ago, a friend of mine would always manage to buy stuff from stores cheaper than I did. It didn't matter what it was, but I especially remember he bought a wetsuit from the same place I did and it was cheaper than the price I paid.

I asked him how he did it, and he simply said "I just ask for a discount".

No reason. No student ID or veteran status required. Just a flat-out honest, "Can I have a discount please?", and most of the time it worked. He'd usually get 10%-20% off the listed price, just for asking.

This thread is the same thing isn't it? :|

This is exactly right. You're paying twice that the cost of a regular DLC, you deserve more content than just changing your race to another one in your faction. That defeats the whole purpose of race changing.

You're paying twice the price of a regular DLC, for just a 1 time race change in faction. It's over priced for being so limited. Since it is 3000 crowns (30 dollars) it should inheritly cover changing your race to any race you want to change it to. The explorers pack never said anything about changing your race, it simply suggested you can CREATE a cross-faction race character, indefinitely.

The total price would be 60 dollars, just to change 1 character to an optimal race for whatever reason. Price gouging.

You might want to double check your math. 3000 crowns does not equal $30 and I don't believe the explorers pack is $30.
You can purchase 5500 crowns for $39.99 which is enough for a race change and the explorers pack.

Not a good enough reason to withhold on cross-faction race changes. It's called RACE CHANGE, if you want to keep players only changing race within their faction, then call it FACTION RACE CHANGE, and then make another product called CROSS FACTION RACE CHANGE. RACE CHANGE In it's self implies you can change your race, it does not imply in any way you would still be tied down to your faction races. That makes utterly no sense for the price of the purchase.

Any Race Any Alliance is a one time exclusive perk for players that purchased the game with the Explorer's Pack.

That's not a perk that should return, in my opinion, regardless of whether it's before or after character creation.

If that reason isn't good enough, well, then look at the poll results.

If "Joe" just bought the game, he's not invested a lot of time in the game itself ... so re-rolling into another Alliance is not an issue.

    EDIT: Added clarity.

If you have the money to spend, good for you. If you are like the majority of people who have not previously bought the cross faction races CREATION, then you're probably not going to pay the same price as brand new game JUST to change your race one time, to your preferred race.

My logic here is, if I'm going to pay 30 dollars to change my race, I want to change my race cross faction. If you already bought the cross faction races, you already have the ability to CREATE a character cross faction, defeating the purpose of race changing.

Ultimately, I will not be purchasing race change, ever. Unless ZOS makes the much needed change to allow that token to change cross faction races as well. Since it is a one token use, there is no reason nto to do this besides the bickering from people feeling they have been treated unfairly because they paid for cross race content but those who pay for the Race Change token get to do it anyways (again, thats 30 dollars, twice the price as DLCs in crowns).

I also knew this thread would turn out like this, because this community does not care about price gouging. As with most MMOs, people will accept RNG boxes, people will accept slaps to the face, and these consumers will not give a single care in the world about fair pricing.

I have the explorers pack on both my accounts, so it doesn't affect me even if I wanted to change races...

But because of the high cost and it being a one character item, I think it should let you do any race. It doesn't hurt me as an owner of the explorer pack for others to get this ability.

However, I would still be inclined to say people who want Imperial should still have the pack that lets you play that race.

PS Stop saying CREATE because it doesn't say that...it says PLAY any race in any faction

I agree, the 3000 crown race change should cover cross-faction races for that single purchase.

Want it? Then pay for like everyone else did.

I could argue that my Dro Mathra Senche was way too expensive and for that price it should be twice as fast and fart cupcakes, but I don't.

Buy the product or don't, but to whine about not getting content for free that others have paid for is just juvenile.

    I'm making a point here.

    Race changes cost 30 dollars.

To change your race to the race you want that'll be 60 dollars.

If you have the money to spend, good for you. If you are like the majority of people who have not previously bought the cross faction races CREATION, then you're probably not going to pay the same price as brand new game JUST to change your race one time, to your preferred race.

I disagree, 3000 crowns should only cover faction based race changes, unless you paid to CREATE cross faction races.
