OP is the type of person to call the cops on his neighbor because of some 'suspicious' looking people coming in and out. I appreciate your concern, but please sit down somewhere. Is he cheating or exploiting? No. Best advice just play your own game and keep the hate at a minimal.

I'm pushing 235 after accepting too many generous pre prepared meals from neighbors .

But on the subject , account sharing is against the rules also with account selling . We all know it happening . If you report it , they will investigate but can cut them loose with a warning like they did the other streamer .

My personal opinion on it is I'm uneducated on what this does wrong to the game . If someone could be explaining how this hurts other players I would appreciate the information as I truly don't know the reasons for this rule .

@Rohamad_Ali Idk how buying an account hurts the game either, but is gold selling bad for the game? If it is sometimes these accounts, like the one the person in my OP bought came with a decent amount of gold(Looked to be over 500K) and all the gear such as VMA weapons and such. If him buying the account doesn't hurt the game or other players, should ZOS start selling gear and gold in the crown store?

Not hating on anyone, just asking some questions. If buying accounts that are fully decked out is ok, I would love for ZOS to start selling VMA and master weapons in the crown store, as I am to lazy to grind them.

Edit: and to add yes I would call the police. You should read this story nytimes.com/1964/03/27/37-who-saw-murder-didnt-call-the-police.html?_r=0 @michaelarryn

Because there's a real risk you just spent money for a stolen account.

Funny you should say that. The neighbors of the San Bernardino shooters saw 'suspicious' looking people coming and going, but they didn't tell anyone because they were afraid of being called names.

Once again I sense no hate or whiny-ness in OP's posts, and yet people keep bashing him for asking the question... Ehhh? Perhaps go back and try to read his posts differently, and refer to my previous post if necessary.

*Edit* hmm perhaps it is none other than I who is reading some posts wrong and sensing hostile intent :open_mouth: *mind implodes*

TOS enforcement seems hit or miss. There's a few people in Wayrest who have openly been bragging that they were perma-banned, but bought a new copy of the game... so it seems like enforcement is on a per-account basis. What gets enforced, when and where, is really hit or miss. Some people I know were banned for using CE, bought a new copy of the game and started over. And yet they openly and readily admit they were banned for using CE.

It's weird how some things work.

If a husband and wife share an use an account is that account sharing? My husband don't play eso but my daughter does. I run my business from home and I've had a phone call an been in a pledge and given her the controler. Did I cheat? I didn,t mean too - for the record I have more gold, ap, cp kills and titles that her so it could be argued I gave it to a more inexperienced player would it count if she gave her controller to me as she suddenly has got to do something?
If I gave my Son money for fishing in glenumbra have I then crossed a line because it's money changing hands ;) I am considering forcing him to fish as he's a nag for money and gets bored, I thought I would see how bad he wants it lol. He's 16 so it's not an age thing.
If I bought my friends a ps4 card to get the DLC because he is broke, and I have played with him for a year and bought non game friends coffee so don't see the difference and he then completed the dungeon with me and I got the helm. Did I buy it?
or What if I met up with a gamer then bought him coffee we went home and ran a wgt with him and I got given a helm as I bought him coffee.
I am curious about the answers.
PS4 EU 1200+ cp - I enjoy RP, Housing, PVE and PVP

There's tons of people buying accounts on console, brahs. Tons. It's become a trend of sorts that if you quit ESO, you sell your account or stuff for PSN cash/credits. In fact, not too long ago 1 of the top PVP players who always made Top 5 on leaderboards sold his account for I think it was $250 worth of PSN cash. Caused a huge uproar in area chat, and supposedly caused a lot of issues as the person who took his spot was a bad player and previously had his account permanently banned for gold selling and scamming.

Dam that's crazy, I didn't know account selling and buying was so lucrative and rampant. I always thought those account selling websites were fakes that would steal your money.

Account selling is a big thing still in all MMOs . That an those power levelers . I forgot but that's another reason why you see bot trains sometimes . Someone's trying to make video games a job .

The reason that these rules are in place:

    1. Gold selling. Multi-boxing is the realm of sellers and bot farmers, its a blanket rule to stop them.
    2. Loss of sales. This is a service that you have to pay for, if you let someone else play your game, they didn't pay for it and its potential lost revenue. (I disagree with this wholeheartedly, but w/e)
    3. Fraud protection: if you are buying an account, you don't know if it was compromised or purchased with a stolen cc.

General CYA blanket statements are pretty valuable in Terms of Service because they give ammunition for the powers that be to selectively enforce rules. It's like why some people get perm bans for gap closing and other people can do it in front of 1,000 people every day.

There is a sliding scale of justice similar to what we call "white privledge" in the U.S. If you are a streamer or other personality that brings something to the table for ZOS, you get special treatment. There is no denying that.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

There right now is a kid who streams, who is obviously account sharing(He even says on stream it's not his(although he changed the @name to match his old one so I think he bought it.)). He was an XBOX one player, started playing PC who on AUG 16 had 210 CP. Overnight he jumps to 650 cp plus. He's a streamer and friends with the other big name streamers, so I know ZOS won't care, but What does the Community think of this?

Can I start sharing my account so that I can pay gold to people for grinding VMA for me?
Can I play on my friend's account to grind cp for him, and in return he pays me gold?
Can I get a PS4 account so I can play with my console friends?

I used to play Everquest and it was likely I had up to 5 guildies account acces in order either to log in for them during specific raid if needed or simply help them complete specific content or even to help other people out when a specific role was missing....

I mean the implication of using somebody else account isn't (in my opinion) such a huge deal. Having to use third party program is in my opinion Something which is a huge deal, buying someone else account... if the person is up for it... I mean why not, even sometime people give away their account when they are done playing it so... why not !

I agree that overall a person who has gather a lot of stuff with hard work isn't likely to applaud that behavior as far as I am, I'm not glad either when I see people using exploit in order to gather a definit advantage over other people but... getting acces to someone else account... I'm not sure Under which condition this is going to be an issue, if thrust is maintain inbetween the two players.

A lot of these streamers just talk *** about the game and ZOS, some even acting like they can do the devs jobs better. So what exactly do they bring to the table? If I never played this game and jumped on some of these high viewer streams I would not buy the game after hearing these guys.

Edit: Not saying I don't do my share of *** talking, but I'm a nobody. So no one takes what I say seriously.

A little late to the party huh....

    1. Account sharing is close to impossible to prove 99% of the time cos VPNs and proxies. Even then you'd be sharing it with someone you know irl which kinda means your living in the same country or at least near enough to not arouse suspicion via IP address.
    2. If its blatant unprotected sharing like if ur IP jumps from one continent to the next and then back again, its easy enuf to track and ban which ZOS does (unless your a streamer in which case you get a free pass).
    3. I know a few irl friends who share accounts with friends. (they use VPN so you cant track their IP anyway) So refer to 1.
    4. There are quite a few very popular and reputable mmo sales websites which have already been selling things like below for the LONGEST time lol;

    - Power levelling from 0-v16 (when vet levels were still a thing). Now its CP levels.
    - vMA runs ( about 20 dollars for one clear, if you buy in bulk aka 10 clears its slightly cheaper at 190 dollars).
    - Emperorship for about 250 dollars.
    - PvP Alliance war point farming ( cant rmb the pricing on this one)
    - Gold selling (250k for about 80 bucks).

In short, ESO has already been monetised by not just china farmers, but by legit players who are playing for others on their accounts for irl cash. Let that sink in for a bit. All those players on leaderboards, all those top PvP'ers etc, and there is NO way for you to know who is legit an who isnt. These websites use VPN's and proxies etc, so there is literally no way for any1 to trace anything as long as people who engage in it are not total idiots and take certain precautions. It would take so much investment and massive effort to weed these people out and mmos typically dont want to waste the massive amount of resources to get rid of these people. Cheaters and irl cashers pay for ESO too. Why turn away money especially when it comes at such a huge cost to get rid of them.

The thread talks about "the guy" then suddenly threads goes into exploiting and im mentioned there dahell lol, my streams are all up, people can go look at them and tag a video of me exploiting something or telling people hey do this to exploit but ofcourse this whole thread is out of context. If I ever talk about an exploit without mentioning how do people do it, blame him its like when people used programs to cheat and everyone blamed fengrush for teaching people.
