How to make ESO more interesting to watch and stream

.. Casino games, Overclocked, Fate, Tibia, even super mario 64 and zelda windwaker beats ESO viewers on twitch.

So I was wondering why isn't ESO fun to watch?

I will start with pve. I have mentioned it before, there is no reason to get a high score other than pride and fame. And also due to all these leaderboard resets, its not a motivation to push a score, when you have in mind it can be wiped the next week. The leaderboards for weekly is the same if you are at the bottom or the top. So there is no real ingame reason other then community, reputation and competition to actually get a high score. The leaderboard system works for each character and not per account. This makes the players snowballing the leaderboards, by just relogging after getting their good score in DSA. I personal am one of them, so this is not a rage since I can't get the loot, but I want the system to be fair and rewarding for good players as well.

Right now, you kind of have to do multiple characters on the leaderboard since the rng is bad, you end up with a ice staff charge trait or something. If the leaderboard was bound to your account, more players have the chance to get on the leaderboard, since its not filled by the most hardcore players who are able to get a top score 12 times in one week (yes those are out there). But to reward players who are able to get a good score, the weekly reward could be based on the score and not the amount of characters you have. This way, there would actually be a reason to push high score and try different setups with class combinations. For top 50% for example, could chose the traits of their weapons or armor, and maybe top 10% get 2 or 3 rewards in mail instead of just one.

Also an idea that crossed my mind, was the guild with the first place all time in a trial, could do the same as we do in pvp after taking a keep. A player can claim the keep for their guild and the merchant and guards uses their tabards and their guild name. Same system could work for having 1rst place in a trial, to have their guild name and tabard showed to everyone, both outside and inside the start of the trial, and maybe even a guild trader.

Which lead to my main point, it will be more competition and trial raids with small changes like this, and will be more interesting to watch players on twitch, and maybe even bring more players into the community.

When it comes to pvp, I don't have many ideas since I don't pvp much myself, but would love to hear others. We are getting dueling now, and we got imperial city, but i'm sure there would be ways to make catching map and towns more interesting as well. Im not saying its not fun already as it is, but as little as 150 viewers on twitch made me think about this, and especially when on a good day, its at most around 1000 viewers.

You did not understand the game market.

Vidz about gear, meta, PvP, helpfull locations, hard quests... this is the way to be "more interesting to watch".

Stream is not interesting, thats a personality job, not the game should be interesting but thats you, the streamers are more important than the game o/

Why do we want people to -watch- people play a game?
Why not get them to actually play the game?

Watching someone else do something I want to do is not entertaining to most people.

Do you like to watch other people eat a nice 5-course meal and listen to them ramble on about how good it is?

The way to make the game more interesting is to play it yourself rather than watch someone else playing it. I can't think of anything more tedious than that, I'd rather watch the proverbial paint dry.

Personally, no. But to be fair, there are entire channels dedicated to cooking and describing the taste/ experience of the meal. I can see how some players would watch others as a learning opportunity. Just not you or I.

I am just stunned by the amount of ignorance people can hold towards streaming.
It really is not hard to grasp the concept nor why it holds entertainment value. Sure, you may not find it fun. There are things I don't find fun either that other people do, that does not make me question their sanity.

Opening your mind should really be more common these days.

Twitch isn't about watching people play video games. It never has been.

Twitch is about connecting people with like minds and connections to something they share, in this case a video game. It's about sharing the "you had to be here, but you couldn't" moments in gaming, especially MMORPG/MOBA.

The point is its a social experience that allows people who would be playing the game if they could, but cant' a chance to be connected to the community.

It also allows people to connect to other players of the same game in an outside way, while still being online, surrounded by the thing they all enjoy.

So for those who say, "let them play the game, not watch it" you are forgetting about a major reason we play these games specifically, to connect with other people.

Other than that why does SmB beat out ESO? Nostalgia and a lot of people don't have access to that game, also were you raised in a family with more than one console? Great for you, but most people only could afford one, and if you are like me with two older brothers, you damn sure were watching more than playing, so it's ingrained in anyone in their 30s, that grew up middle class with brothers/sisters vying for game time.

Beyond that how to make ESO more popular? You have to build the community, and this is one of the most toxic communities in gaming. It's well known that this game allows cheating and exploiting beyond just about any other MMO, so the general acceptance of it is super low.

Bring up the community, bring up the faith in the entire game and you will have more interesting streams, but for now you are only going to get the 1vXers and their followers, all the while exploiting their way to greatness.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Watching others playing games or talking about some, mostly irrelevant, things about games and other things, is just a waste of time. Time is precious in these times. This has nothing to do with open minds or ignorance.

That is fine that you don't, however there is a fair amount of ignorance towards it, judging by the comments here.
It could be I misused the word ignorant in this regard, maybe narrow-minded would have been more suitable, although these comments below do show lack of awareness - which is being ignorant. There are multiple reasons as to why people watch streamers. It is much like watching gameplay videos, or taking time to enjoy a game without having to pay the price for it. Not everyone can afford it nor does everyone want to shell out money for a new game they dont know much about. Sometimes it can be frustrating playing i.e. Dark Souls but is much more fun to watch without the drawbacks of frustrating deaths.

Not liking streaming is fine, not understanding why anybody might enjoy it, however, is being ignorant  So there it is outlined.

I don't know if I have ever watched a Live Stream of anyone playing any game ever other than by accident. I will watch videos of games to figure out how find something or do something (although I would rather read a Wikia for that).

I will say that of the videos I have watched that were probably once Streams, or maybe they were intended to be direct to video, I don't want to see the headshot of the player/commentator. If there are two videos of a game scene I need to see, I will pick the one where I don't have to look at someone else.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
