How to make ESO more interesting to watch and stream

Honestly, ESO just isn't a spectating game, so it isn't to interesting to watch.

Generally, games with eSports leagues are interesting to watch.

But I must agree with the point that the streamer is more important that what he streams. I watch gaming YouTubers because of them, not because of what they play.

That is fine that you don't, however there is a fair amount of ignorance towards it, judging by the comments here.
It could be I misused the word ignorant in this regard, maybe narrow-minded would have been more suitable, although these comments below do show lack of awareness - which is being ignorant. There are multiple reasons as to why people watch streamers. It is much like watching gameplay videos, or taking time to enjoy a game without having to pay the price for it. Not everyone can afford it nor does everyone want to shell out money for a new game they dont know much about. Sometimes it can be frustrating playing i.e. Dark Souls but is much more fun to watch without the drawbacks of frustrating deaths.

Not liking streaming is fine, not understanding why anybody might enjoy it, however, is being ignorant  So there it is outlined.

This basically sums up what I wanted to say. Well put.

I randomly opened twitch now, LOL: 125k viewers, Heartstone 73k, ESO 308 viewers.

This also says a lot about the community we have in this game which is; not MMO players. So for me one just influences the others, the type of players we have are also here because of what the game offers, which is not enough of a challenging content and by challenging content I mean aims/goals that would make people competitive here.

It may sound harsh but most of the players here are just casual players and that's fine but it's not what will make this game bigger in numbers or a famour/successful MMO. And a successful MMO is one that for example has viewers on twitch.

The can be a correlation between the two, though.

Maybe.. I would think though, that it's just another way of sampling the game before buying it, or maybe getting the solution to a problem you might have encountered when playing the game yourself.. When I was a kid, you went over to a friend who had the game to see it.. Now you can just take the lazy way and watch it online instead

Most of the time it's the streamer that is bringing in the people, it's an interaction that you can be involved with the game you love on the subway or the train or at school or work.

Compulsive people are compulsive. Game is down so of course so many more posts on the forums right now, meaning that people are feeling the impulse to be a part of this community, but can't so they scratch that itch here.

Twitch is the same thing, but it's visual and real time, it's as good as playing as you can get without playing, plus you get social commentary and community involvement.

Twitch basically is the methodone for video game addicts, it keeps them from total withdrawal, but it doesn't give that same kick.

It really is not hard to grasp the concept nor why it holds entertainment value. Sure, you may not find it fun. There are things I don't find fun either that other people do, that does not make me question their sanity.

Opening your mind should really be more common these days.

If I want to watch something, I'll go watch TV.
I've got no interest in listening to someone ramble on about how badass their DPS is, or how amazing they are for 1v999999'ing.

thanks for helping out making the game more intereseting and bringing more players by making the solution to go watch tv. Really what we need. -.-

Why do we want people to -watch- people play a game?
Why not get them to actually play the game?

Watching someone else do something I want to do is not entertaining to most people.

Do you like to watch other people eat a nice 5-course meal and listen to them ramble on about how good it is?
    watch someone play a game?

    really???

    why?

the above post is bordering on the offensive.

my response is based on my opinion and my experience - not ignorance.

i once watched a stream of a game, and i was struck with the thought 'what the **** are you doing this for, you could be doing something interesting or useful instead of watching this **** ponce around in a video game'

there is a whole world out there.... you should try it some time.

I may try this only in new way . 2 of my friends are belly dancing girls . Perhaps having them in the background will amaze players as I faceroll through dungeons and break many soul gem using records . If they don't enjoy the face rolling game play they can focus on the ladies . I also knowing a guy that makes the balloon animals . Maybe someone winning balloon Guar mount ? Exciting yes ?

For the same reason people watch anything  entertainment, or the chance of learning something useful  My brother watches tons of miniature wargames videos to learn different tactics that he can then employ and develop further

Not nearly as many people play ESO as the developers would lead you to believe. It is an incredibly small community. Besides watching people play instead of playing is lame.

I don't know if I have ever watched a Live Stream of anyone playing any game ever other than by accident. I will watch videos of games to figure out how find something or do something (although I would rather read a Wikia for that).

One of the most frustrating things for me is when I am stuck on say a quest, so I fire up my browser and do a quick search. All I want is a cryptic clue telling me what I've been missing, but what do I get more often than not these days? A Youtube video taking me through the entire questline  !

The interesting part is, this could be said of the person actually playing the video game as well.
