It is no secret that the power creep in this game is...... massive there's no avoiding it. But past few updates ZoS has tried to shorten this creep but as we can see it isn't working all to well (doesn't help cheaters and exploiters are running amuck and ZoS does nothing about it). What many have suggested is that soft caps come back which I am all for but to do that ZoS will have to admit they where wrong and well they'll never do that cause their idea and choices are "100% flawless".
Which is why I personally believe to at least tone down this power creep is to get rid of resource scaling with damage. Now I just wanna say yes this will not doubt nerf DPS there's no sugar coating that but what I suggest hopefully won't do so that much. I suggest a few times is "attribute scaling".
Here's the idea.......
1 attribute point into stamina increases weapon damage by .5%
1 attribute point into magicka increases spell damage by .5%
1 attribute point into health decreases damage received by .5%
What this does is it will allow players to still increase their damage by other means than sets and enchantments but not force them to pool everything into magicka or stamina. So by pooling all your attribute points into say magicka you'll get a 32% increase to spell damage so say have 2500 spell power well 2500*32%=800+2500=3300. Pretty high so add that 32% with a buffed up spell damage from skills. Before any one ask the attribute will only effect spell/weapon damage and not the skill/spell itself like how it is now where the higher your resource is the more damage is dealt. Again yes this will be hopefully a small nerf to damage but also hopefully tone down this power creep.
Plus it gives a reason for non-tank players to add some points into health not only for the obvious more health but to decrease the damage received. So if you are dieing to much pool 10 points into health to decrease damage received by 5% and have a bit more HP. Final note this would allow for more options for enchantment on armor you can still do say all stamina or all magicka just for more resources but if you think you got a good enough amount you can say replace all the small armor enchantment slots with health since the health enchantment gives more than stamina or magicka enchantments.
