The necro build isn't really a 'one shot' type of build.
It's more for a very big dampen and high burst potential and high damage.
Still seems like garbage to me. Necromancer set is much better. It could use some love though. Like replacing stam recovery with max magicka and removing the cooldown.

I think they'll do this in update 12 when each PvE zone will have 3 sets droppable only in that zone. They'll bring all sets that now cant be dropped on cp 160 and change details in this sets so I assume necromancer will be there.
So with the SotH launch, a lot of the old sets were scaled to CP160/VR16 finally. Meaning sets like: Silks of the Sun, Necropotence, etc. all finally got their well-deserves increase in level/rank. But, why is it that people are scrambling all over for Necropotence? Lol. I don't get it. I overheard a conversation with 2 of my buddies, and heard that he bought an arcane ring of Necropotence for 500k. And everyone in my group said that was a steal, as they're selling for 750k and higher.
Do people not realize that Necropotence is a set that is primarily built for pet builds, although it can be used for 4pcs. for max magicka? Lol. I'm hearing conversations all over of how Necropotence is the new meta for magicka builds, and how it replaces: Julianos, Scathing Mage, TBS, etc. And as a person who's mained pet builds for a long time — this disturbs me.
I was ridiculed for using pet builds for as long as I can remember, and when people saw videos and streams of me doing content like Vet Maelstrom with it — I was mocked heavily. I was laughed at, and told it was impossible. And how I was getting my clears through luck. When in fact, pet builds have always been quite strong and heavily underestimated. Every since Day 1. But now, Necropotence is all the rage? What? Why? ._.

Wait... What...? It's the 5 piece people want, but not pet builds... Yet a pet build (of some kind or another) is required to achieve the 5 piece bonus... Um... Alright. Lol.

Also I wouldn't say require 1 active pet for the bonus is really a pet build, its basically a statstick.

The biggest reason not to run it before (other than bad traits, v12 etc) was you could not use TBS, juliannos (at the time the two best dps sets for a mag sorc)
Now if it has weapons and jewelry we can see a lot more use, it is a stat stic. Which is perfect, having one stat stick set or combination and having one effect set was usually the way to go.
I just wish my current versions would be upgraded automatically....

Adroitness set seems alright too.
