Does dueling inside faction will be possible? And does dueling in PvE means duel without Battle Spirit? :D

    Or scroll buffs!!!??

ZOS seems determined to throw out everything that set ESO apart.

Exactly!! Eso has been missing so much that other mmo's offer! This is a great addition and I hope zos continues on this path.

Did they say if it will be possible to disable it?

As long as I can't be attacked randomly and I can't be spammed with duel requests I'm ok with it. Without the ability to diable it this could seriously put me off playing in any area where dueling is enabled.

You can turn off duel requests in the settings.

Do other players see the duels, though, or will the two players involved have their own phase?

If we all can see all the duels, the cities are going to be complete chaos.

Clearly there needs to be an option to auto decline duel requests... although on PC I'm sure if ZOS doesn't add the option an add-on developer will.

Why not just decline the request? I assume the duel would function like trading via request. By your logic zos should also have an auto trade request decline option too.

It's pretty generally accepted in MMOs that optional things that can result in nuisance spamming such as guild invites and duel challenges should have an auto-decline option. Although trading requests are far less likely to be a nuisance they also have an auto-decline setting in some MMOs.

Such options are not just for the benefit of the target player, they also enable the player issuing the invitation to know instantly that he's wasting his time so that he can try inviting someone else instead. It's win/win for those that want to duel and those that don't.

What is odd is people saying they will be ganked. Like they will actually be killed. Has no one played a game with dueling before?

I know on consoles a lot of players have never played a MMo before so most haven't.So am sure many players don't understand what's going in with duel. They just know they went to PVP before and got killed so they think its PVP everywhere.

I'm more concerned with having to watch everybody else's duels while in the cities. Sounds like a mess.

Though, to be fair, once PVP is allowed to exist in the same region as PVE-exclusive, there will be some clever modder/hacker that will break the barrier, and then players may indeed get unpleasantly surprised. Seen it before.

This is a company that couldn't remove the "Congrats on Champion Point 160" email for two months.

    Like I said, CHAOS.

Even though ever poll here has resulted in a small minority of even PvPers wanting arenas or dueling (despite the spam of those who want them) this might be a good thing. It'll keep those who don't contribute to campaigns out of them. If only IC were to be removed from real Cyrodiil.

You sound like you love zergs, horse simulators and PvDoor! IC is the only part of PvP that's any fun, in my opinion.

Well you can't hack consoles as easily as you can on PC.So it would be more of a PC issue.its ZOs job to make sure that doesn't happen. If its reminds me of that South park episode.

Makes sense. I'm all for more options especially options that improve an individuals experience in game without affecting others
