PC Users - Text chat how to for us console users?

Ok, I am in game (160 MB cable link...YAY!), and I have gotten the text window open.

Am I right in thinking that the only channels available for use are /say and /zone?

Also, some of the commands do work. I just did /played, and that worked.

So, can anyone in PC land enlighten us console users as to what channels we have, and commands?

Thats not very comprehensive. It only gives a few of the text chat channels, and almost none of the commands.

I don't really use any commands in Chat, other than Emotes or changing channels.

On the PC, you change guild channels by typing in /g1 or /g2 for place your guild is on the list. /g2 would be for the second guild in your list

    /z gets you zone
/s gets you say (within visible sight)
/y gets you yell (probably half a zone)

I have never figured out how to whisper someone other than clicking on their name in the chat window, but your supposed to be able to /w player name or account name to do that

For an emote (some may not work on consoles) try

/sit1 (this one may not work as the underlying emote may not be on the console)
    /sit2
/sit3 (they go up to /sit6)
    /bucketsplash

If any of those work, then most of the other emotes should work

/played should give you the time you played on that Alt, but not on your account. You have to add each Alt up, and that number is just going to be scary, so you might not want to know....

/stuck is way to get unstuck, but you can just port to a wayshrine too. This command is only good if you want to stay in the Delve you are in otherwise. I don't know if it gets you around having to pay the higher Wayshrine fee if you try to jump soon after wayshrining.

Here are the other commands for the PC, not all may work on the consoles
/bug – The slash command used to open the bug reporting UI within the in-game Help Portal UI.
/chat – The slash command used to open the “Ask for Help” window within the in-game Help Portal UI.
/chatlog – The slash command to toggle chat logging on or off.
/emote or /e or /me – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /emote slash command.
/feedback – The slash command used to open the “Feedback” window within the in-game Help Portal UI.
/fps – The slash command to toggle the display of current framerate.
/help – The slash command used to open the in-game Help Portal UI (defaults to the Knowledgebase window).
/invite – The slash command to invite another player to your group. Followed by a space, and then the group-invite-target’s name. (Account name can be used with an @ symbol before the full name.)
/jumptofriend – The slash command to jump to the wayshrine/graveyard closest to a named friend.
/jumptogroupmember – The slash command to jump to the wayshrine/graveyard closest to a named group member.
/jumptoguildmember – The slash command to jump to the wayshrine/graveyard closest to a named guild member.
/jumptoleader – The slash command to jump to the wayshrine/graveyard closest to the group leader.
/logout – A slash command to log off of the current server. (Returns player to login screen)
/quit The slash command to exit the game. (Closes game window entirely).
/reloadui – The slash command to reload the ui so that it loads from source xml and lua files.
/stuck – The slash command to claim that you are stuck in geometry/character is out of the world and need server assistance.
To leave or modify a group: Navigate to the group menu in the Social window (O) and right-click the player name you want to change or remove.

Here are some other chat commands, again, for PC, not sure if they all work on the consoles
/guild1 or /g1 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /guild1 slash command. (First guild in the user’s guild list. Name of guild will auto-populate when this is typed)
/guild2 or /g2 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /guild2 slash command. (Second guild in the user’s guild list. Name of guild will auto-populate when this is typed)
/guild3 or /g3 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /guild3 slash command. (Third guild in the user’s guild list. Name of guild will auto-populate when this is typed)
/guild4 or /g4 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /guild4 slash command. (Fourth guild in the user’s guild list. Name of guild will auto-populate when this is typed)
/guild5 or /g5 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /guild5 slash command. (Fifth guild in the user’s guild list. Name of guild will auto-populate when this is typed)
/officer1 or /o1 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /officer1 slash command. (Officer chat for first guild in the user’s guild list.)
/officer2 or /o2 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /officer2 slash command. (Officer chat for second guild in the user’s guild list.)
/officer3 or /o3 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /officer3 slash command. (Officer chat for third guild in the user’s guild list.)
/officer4 or /o4 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /officer4 slash command. (Officer chat for fourth guild in the user’s guild list.)
/officer5 or /o5 – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /officer5 slash command. (Officer chat for fifth guild in the user’s guild list.)
/party or /p – The slash command to set the current chat channel to Party (Group). The following text will be sent to all members of the local-player’s party/group. Followed by a space, and then the text to send.
/reply or /respond or /r – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /tell slash command, using the last player who whispered you as the target.
/say or /s – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /say slash command. (Allows user to switch back to local chat)
/tell or /t or /w or /whisper – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /tell slash command. (Account name can be used with an @ symbol before the full name)
/yell or /y – The slash command to set the current chat channel to Yell. The following text will be sent to all players in your local vicinity, wider ranging than /say but not zone wide. Followed by a space, and then the text to send.
/zone or /z – A list of all the slash commands that activate the /zone slash command. (Zone-wide chat. User’s version of the zone only.)
    /zen, /zde , /zfr – English / German / french language zone

    @Nestor Thanks!

Thinking about the time we played this game is indeed scary!
Another command that is most probably scary/disappointing is /fps.

Do we really need to see that we have 10FPS in large fights, lol.

For whispers there are two ways. If you know their account name type /w @(name). If you don't know it but know the character name, type /w (name) with a comma at the end.

@Bonzodog01 I'd be interested to know the results if you try out @Nestor's extended commands list (/bug, /invite, /stuck, /logout, /reloadui etc). Please let me know if they work!

And for a final test of compatibility, please try:
    /script d("Hello world!")
    /script d(GetPlayerLocationName())

I'm very curious: does "/reloadui" operate the way a log off /log back on would? Meaning that it's a way to collect duplicate survey maps, and get items you just bought to show up in your mailbox right away?

It does not work to trigger mail. I use it when something is glitching and not showing up properly, or a door won't open, or such things. It's sort of a partial relog I guess.

So is Console chat also instanced to player Alliance only like on PC?

I always have to remember that when I'm in Cyrodiil or when I have multi-Alliance guild and instance-Alliance chat in the same tab.

    @Daishichi

ReloadUI is for when the game's UI does not seem to be responding properly, usually due to an addon error. It is not a relog of the zone so it won't trigger emails or surveys. If you don't use Addons, you probably would never need to use this. But, if the game seems weird with the UI, you can try it, but also, hitting the control that brings up the menu like to relog can also do that to.

To trigger emails, just rezone, or go into or out of the Outlaw Refuge, or a Delve that reloads the zone.

To trigger surveys if you have multiples, this is even easier. Just move away from the survey location so that you don't have line of sight to the survey location, and bring up your next map. Then when you go back, the survey will be there. This distance is variable for each survey location, but you usually do not have to go far. Although that one Alchemy survey in Wrothgar, up on the hill near the waterfall, you have to drop off the cliff, then go back up. Just going around the big rock up there is not enough. Your still not far away from the survey, but you still have to climb back up. However, the Enchanting survey that is near there, just run towards the ruins where the mobs are, don't have to get close to that wall or anything, then go back.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Just tested a bit (XBox only) , /bug works, /reloadui works (just reloads the area you are in), /stuck works, /invite works, but /fps DOES NOT work. It seems impossible for the XBox to tell you its FPS.

Those script commands also do nothing.
