To be fair, without max HP from the one piece of nerienith, my sorc would be around 17k health. Too low for end game stuff like vDSA and vet trials. So it is useful there.
The crystals blast area is too small. Even with 70% snare from Bahraha's Curse set someone can just walk out of it. Nobody stands in the same area for 3 seconds in pvp. So instead of spell damage we should have a small splash damage like Valkyn's meteor at the moment of proc.

I'd like the damage of the crystals changed to physical damage. The slow crystal proc on an enemies location makes more sense to me as a melee range attack because you are in the face of mobs/players rather than a pew pew magicka attack on what might just be one mob/player.
i see stamina users gets very afraid of that if magicka can have what they have...
Dont worry we dont bite:D....

This is why I believe it should give Magicka instead of Health, to compensate for the small radius of the crystal.Curragraigue wrote: »I like it on my stam melee characters so no thanks

You know this set is MEANT for Magicka users right? After all, Nerien'eth himself was a Mage.

I'd be happy for it to be more useful for all of the classes magicka builds. In its current form I don't think it is.
First one can give max magicka or spell damage and proc rate should be more or just make the damage more...

Yeah, problem is keeping the target in one place long enough for those 3 seconds to pass lol

It's only 1k... Besides, I use shields to keep my mage alive. They do the job just fine most of the time (pretty sure Nerien'eth cheats...).

If you are using wards in vDSA and vet trials, you are doing it wrong. Sorc DPS is pretty bad anyways, so spending valuable time spamming the ward, you are not doing DPS. Though there is a need to have it on the overload bar, just in case. You need to trust your healer and believe that they will heal you, and in turn, make their job easier by having at least 18k health.

That kid also picks up the Ebony Blade and starts slashing about.
I guess that he fills two roles.

Incorrect an infallible + tbs sorc can run 16k hp and stack as many shields as possible not affecting their dps one bit. This build has carried me through all current trials, vma and vdsa. A julianos, willpower, kena/nerineth sorc however cannot use shields like that and keep their dps consistent.

I do plenty of DPS watching my own back. Long as I don't get jumped Surge keeps me healed and Ward keeps me safe.

Lol I can't believe you guys are actually defending ward spamming in a group environment. By definition if you are using the ward, you are not doing DPS. I get that if you are dead, you can't dps and there are times you need it, that is why you would have it on the overload bar.
And "getting jumped" doesn't happen in PvE. If you get attacked, either the tank is not doing their job or you are paying close enough attention.
Surge is great but if you really want the best dps, you need to be running pots and have a good healer.
And I don't get how having IA and TBS would change this. Unless you are doing the whole lightning staff heavy build. Even then, you stop attacking to use ward. Period. No dps out.
For the record, I do wear julinanos and nerienith, but I also have elegant on my overload bar.

PvE doesn't automatically mean "go dungeoneer". You have to remember that there is solo-play, especially Maelstrom, and World Bosses where you get all sorts. Ergo it IS possible to "get jumped" in PvE.
