Couple questions about console text chat.

First off I am using the Xbox One Chat box for text chat so my experience with the new text chat may be a little different that someone using an actual keyboard.

1. Is there a way to keep the chat box open all the time (so it never fades and leaves the screen)? If not could you implement this feature ZOS?
2. Once the chat window is open, how can I scroll up to see previous chats?
3. How can we click on some something someone has linked in text chat?

Hmmmm... I will edit with more questions as they come up. If anyone else has questions about the new text chat feature added to the consoles please post them here as well!

4. When trying to chat to specific guild would I need to do - /guildname (IE - like I would do to for /say or /yell)?

Can the text chat window be moved? I've heard it's on the right side and there are no way to put it on the left side.

The full list of commands would be good to know as well.

Meh.. On the left side it feels more natural to me.. I just saw a screenshot.. it's not too intrusive, but the window could be lowered a little bit more. I mainly wish it was possible to chose on which side.. next update maybe!

It feels more natural on the lower left but having it up on the lower right is not as bad as I thought it would be.

Look at your list of Guilds. If you want to talk to someone in the second guild in your list, then you use /g2 or /guild2 to enter that channel.

1. Not really but it does auto pop-up when you type something so ....Also, there is a big view with the press of 2-3 buttons so it takes 1 sec
2. Log into the game first. It's very intuitive but when typing all other controls are disabled. That answer depends on what you're using, which platform you're on and which window you're in.
3. You don't click on anything. You go into the chat social view and when you highlight the line, it shows the item to the right. ....it's very intuitive just log into the game and it'll make sense.
FYI- you can't type and link so if you're thinking it's like PC where you would write WTS or WTB ....(linked item) that isn't how it works.

You go into your inventory and hit "y" or triangle and select lol in chat. It links and writes the item all at once in the chat you're in.

4. G1 or /g2 etc based on the order of your guilds in the social menu

It's not anything like PC but considering the opportunity it's well done for consoles other than linking items.

A quick-reference list of ALL chat commands/channels would be awesome though. Keep in mind not ALL console players have played on PC so we need a complete list to know what we can do, otherwise we can only guess lol

By the way just found out Sit Ground 1 is missing from PS4 Emotes so /sit1 will not work.

I really want to know if the total amount of time played works. Can't test it now and don't see why it wouldn't but just curious.

It does. Here is the list Nestor linked that I have tested personally and updated to Console standards:

/s = Say Chat Channel
/y = Yell Chat Channel
/z = Zone Chat Channel
/p = Group Chat Channel
/g# = Guild Chat Channel (# is 1-5 to represent Guilds you are in by the order listed)
/o# = Guild Officer Chat Channel (# is 1-5 to represent Guilds you are in by the order listed)
/t (Player Name), = Begins PM session with that player upon typing the , in
/r = Reply to a Whisper
/e = Emote Channel (For Roleplaying apparently lol)
/invite (Player Name) = Invites Player to Group
/jumptofriend (Player Name) = Fast Travel to that Player
/jumptoguildmember (Player Name) = Fast Travel to that Player
/jumptogroupmember (Player Name) = Fast Travel to that Player
/jumptoleader = Fast Travel to your Group Leader
/played = View total time logged in your character
/help, /bug, /stuck, /feedback, or /chat = Opens Help Menu
/reloadui = Forces a Loading Screen.
/logout = Logs you out/Initiates Logout sequence
/sit# = Sit Ground Emote
/bucketsplash = Water Bucket Emote

Note that I only listed the most convenient commands, IE /s instead of /say.

P.S. Feel free to test further on Emote commands lol

I tried that too by typing Water Bucket in that channel but it spoke it instead as if I was chatting. I also tried bucketsplash but same thing.

/e is usually something people that like to role play use. It is for doing customers emotes, but there is no animation to go with it or anything.

I had to edit my post with the list of commands because whispers don't seem to work unless you initiate them from social lists via friend, guild, or group. Anyone have any ideas how to whisper someone via chat command? /t and /w do not work.

Say I wanted to whisper you on PC...

I would have to type the following in chat...

/w UltimaJoe777,

Then start typing the message. The comma must be there or else it will not work.

I have no clue if that will work like that on console but it's worth a shot.

Also /t /tell /whisper I think will also work before the name but all will need the comma.
