Make it possible to "disagree" on something.

Now we can only choose "insightfull","agree" or "awesome",
since this is a forum i think it would be convenient and constructive to add an "disagree" option to posts and comments.

It could be cool, but you know people are evil right? They will probably ask guildies to spamm disagrees on certain subjects. Especially the casual scrolls that never leave the forums.

Anyway, having no agrees/awesomes/insightfull is kind of indicator already.

Imagine: someone posts something they think is going to have a lot of people in agreeance with, only to have people disagree with it instead.

    Their feelings would get hurt.

It's 2016, and as such, we can't have people going around thinking they aren't the smartest person in the room and that their opinion doesn't matter.

Could you imagine a world where people could be told their stupid from time to time? I couldn't fathom it.
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

I think i am the only one from my guildies and for sure the only from my friends that play the game that actually is active one the forum,
mostly there is a certain kind of gamer type thats active on forums i noticed,
its a shame though that not more gamers want to be active on forums,
it would create a more wider view on most subjects.

That being said you got a point that its something that could be abused by people,
but the same counts for the options we have now,
now they could also asks guildies or friends to "upvote" theyr post or comment.

There is so much negative already here and people would use this in spam form. I don't see the need to add to it. If it would eliminate the unstructured ZOS and player bashing I would be all for it, but that is unlikely.

    To far?

Anyway yeah people were sad that people did not agree. It is an odd world we live in.

I ask my friends to upvote my discussions o:) most of them don't comply tho. (Don't judge, I an human and I need acceptance)
But I believe is okay to spam positivity. The problem is that it negativity aspect can be used to annoy (perharps even harass) another user that you may have a quarrel with. I don't know, keep it off table means less issues to worry about, imaging the amount of "people are disagree spamming me" posts that may happen. Right now the current system is okay, since have no upvotes at all already shows that, at least, people arent compalying with your ideas xD

In every forum I participated on that had a system like this, "disagree" and "lol" were eventually removed. At least we still have "insightful" here.

It is always the same. People "disagree-bombing" some other people, the second group being super worried with internet points or whatnot and complaining, drama happening, mods removing the button. With the lol button, it is because people get upset when they make a serious post and other people use the lol button. Drama ensues all the same.

In one of the forums I participated on that had a system like this, there was a way of seeing who clicked each button using a loophole in the forum's coding. The drama went on and on for weeks. Friendships were ruined. People were banned. It was beautiful.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

This is basically the point, why no "disagree" is there - it is not constructive to just disagree without to state why.

What is strange to me is that if you are going to have the buttons, you should be able to see who used them. If you cant it makes it pointless. Well other then the normal forum trolls entertaining themselves with them. No not me. I meant someone else, not me.

But for the people that dont agree with that where you ask ur buddies to upvote for,
for them its not "positive" at all,
because it creates a "corrupted" view of the opinions of people on the statement.

And since this is possible now with the other so called "positive" choices,
it would be only good in the sense of constructive discussions.

Let people show that they dont agree with a simple click instead of a elaborate comment.

Maybe they should just remove insightful, agree, and awesome options.

I think not having a disagree option is misleading.

For example I could post a thread like "Emily is OP", and get 25 agrees, but in reality there were 2000 people who disagreed, but you will not see that number because there is no disagree option.

I'm not against a "Dislike" button, but I doubt this would be implemented based on the since retired LOL option and what a lot of forum members used it for.

Though, to be honest, I'd much rather see the username of forum members that have already clicked "Insightful," "Agree," or "Awesome" on a post.

Anonymity can be nice, but I'm not sure why we're only able to see the reaction number count... If you have a reaction to a post, let everyone be able to see who thinks what.

Maybe something kind of like the poll results feature? Just my two cents. :)

    I disagree.

Here is a statement as to why I disagree.

A disagree has been tried twice before in Beta. The first time, 3 years ago, it would bury high disliked posts. Players abused it by systematically group down voting players they disliked. The second time it was returned during the closed beta with the smaller hand selected long term testers. It was removed again because players were using it in place of feed back.

There is a thrid time, if you want to count the sarcastic abuse of the lol button. At the time there was some definite toxicity in its use. There was probably some attempt to control the discussion by mass ridiculing dissenting opinions. And again, there was the lack of feedback, if you got a lol and didn't know why.

So now that there is a disagree plus a why: tldr it's easy to abuse and doesn't help understand the reason for disagreement.

Any one else wanting to disagree, but doesn't want to type a message out, can click agree on a post disagreeing like this one. (Assuming that post reflects why you disagree.)

Btw, either 1) your name is Emily and you love yourself way too much; 2) or you love an Emily 2a) if she(he?Is it can be used for males?) loves you back its okay 2b) if don't it is definetely kind creepy and you should get proper and professional help :D lol.

I wasnt aware that there was this option before,
but now i hear more of it i see the issues.

Maybe its an idea to just simplify it to just the ability to "upvote" and " downvote" .

Understood- sometimes it's fun to just throw out stars for the heck of it.

So, would a "disagree" button also add stars? Or maybe it would take them away? Or they'd just be a running tally of shame on your profile with no star value at all...

I'm not sure but forum star mini game is mostly too serious and OP . Nerf forums .

But seriously way too many wrapped up in other people's opinions of them . We are all ESO Players at end of the day and should being kind not negative to each other .
