ZOS, New Pig Farm is Hindering Quest Completion

In the town of Southpoint, there is a quest line called "The Grip of Madness." At one point, you have to distract a bear (without killing it) while an NPC lifts a curse on the bear. Today, I ran into groups of players ranging from CP 50 up to CP 500 (this is a lvl 17 area) standing around one of these bears, which re-spawn 3 seconds after death, killing the bears to apparently farm hide for Dreugh Wax. This is essentially another "pig farm." I would normally have no problem with this, but there's another group of players standing around who are trying to do the quest, but cannot because these bear farmers aren't allowing them to.

There will always be farms. If ZOS keeps thinning out the mobs due to farming, we are going to have Elder Tumbleweeds Online.

That sucks!

I am 100% guilty of farming for leather and wax from low level zones, but would NEVER hinder someone doing a quest. It only takes a second to let the quester get their stuff done and you can go right back to it.

Some people have no class at all.

I don't care about the farming. But it's a *** move to not let the low levels finish their quest and move on. Seems like anyone that has the quest active can spawn the bears. More than likely, one of the low levels was a guildie or friend of one of the higher levels, and was there with the quest so that he/she could spawn the bear for them.

This isn't from a mob. There's literally 2 bears. One in a tower, and another on the other side of the town. And the quest calls for both of them.

People can farm mobs almost anywhere. That quest can only be done there, and only with those bears.

There really are better places to farm Hides. For example: Scale down Wayrest Sewers, run it with a CR160+ Max-Rank Clothier, and watch the Rubedo Hide Scraps fall into your lap from all the Skeever you slay!

I swear, people just like to exploit even the stupidest bugs and glitches...

kinda lame , does the bear respawn that fast to prefere this spot ?

They respawn almost instantly. Maybe 2-3 seconds.

I always let lowbies through. I run a specific circle run and let anyone doing the quest use the Bears outside that circle. But don't come on the forums and whine. Farming/grinding is a big part of any MMO. You're just asking for ZOS to nerf that area because you were slow enough to lift the curse on what, 3 bears to complete your quest? There are about 50-100 bears in that area with around 30 seconds to respawn. Maybe one day when you want to get your gear improved and you either have to spend 200-300k on Dreugh Wax or farm it quick you'll understand

They respawn almost instantly. Maybe 2-3 seconds.

Even so 1 or 2 bears every few seconds is not the most ideal farm spot.

Honestly sounds like you are talking about a different quest, one which involves bears and wolves in the area. That area there is no issue with people farming since you can find other bears to complete the quest. If that's the case then you just outed that area yourself.

The one he is talking about there are NO other bears than the 2(or 3) that he needs, you cant do any others. First you bring her to one bear and she turns it back to the soldier, then to the next one.

I do think if a particular spawn is a quest objective, ZOS should just stop it dropping anything useful so that people doing the quest can progress unhindered. Especially since if you are doing the Southpoint quest, that bear objective doesn't actually die for ppl doing the quest, so there is no way you get anything from it anyway if you are following the quest.

Anyone who specifically goes there for those 2 bears, and disrupts people from doing the quests, is not a good person. Find other places to grind.

It is possible to accidentally kill the bear when doing the quest if you are quicker than the npc (guilty

Difference is, no quest is tied to the cats. This particular place, the bears are needed for the quest. So I see OPs point.

He's not calling for scrap nerfing to be nerfed. He just wants to complete a quest. One which is part of the zone's main quest I believe.

Difference is, no quest is tied to the cats. This particular place, the bears are needed for the quest. So I see OPs point.

Yes, it is impossible to progress the zone quest without doing this part - if people are rushing in and killing those bears for scrap, you can't progress in the quests.

Zeni have removed all xp and loot drops from mobs needed for quests before, they will do it again.
