Unlikely.
The 4 slot increase was expected for a long time, since you could easily see 4 more gaps in the character select window.
There is no more place for character slots beyond 12.
That does not mean it is impossible, but I highly doubt it.
sentientomega wrote: »Yes, I would make more alts, even already having 12 on each server. Because that's nothing, I already have 150 swtor characters, all of whose names and backgrounds and personalities I know by heart, and when playing that character, can easily slip into the essence of what makes them who they are. Same with my 24 ESO ones...
But that is partly because ESO characters are not so streamlined in levelling experience as the swtor ones are.
Of course I cannot possibly prove the above to any of you, but then nor should I be expected to.
If they added another 4 slots per server, I would imagine I'd make 5 more NBs, to cover those species with whom I've not made an NB (Breton, Dunmer, Imperial, Nord, Orc), and two more sorcs (Argonian, another Breton, as I already have one of these, who is my NA main) and a templar spellsword (Dunmer). I even have in mind exactly how they would all look, in the event that I were able to make them, as well as the basics of a background for each.
Not that I'd be *too* bothered if they never added any more slots ever again, but I like variety, and all my characters have varied backgrounds, though some are related to each other: parents, siblings, cousins, whatever. Some of these new ones I had in mind would indeed be related to some of those currently in existence.
As Lysette says, there is a slider, so they could add more. Were I ZOS adding character slots, I would've doubled the number available, rather than increase it by merely 50%. It's not as if people should feel compelled to make more characters if they don't want to, anyway. So there being more slots added should not really affect anyone, especially as you can't log into more than one character at once, under normal circumstances anyway, probably.
But, as I've said, I'm quite prepared to live with it if they never add any more slots ever again; I merely wanted to know the likelihood of them ever giving people the chance to make more, if such players wanted to.

If I may ask, what would you do with more slots?

Maybe in another year or so they would increase it by like 4.

Whatever floats your boat!

so you need at least 80 alts times how many possible hybrids
so call it at least 400 slots to try a range of the possibles - i have a feeling the number is probably higher.

Yes but a whole lot of them would be quite similar to each other - it is not as if this would be a huge variety of really different characters, most of them would be much alike to a whole lot of others.

well..... yes and no.
you have the race perks to consider and the different gear sets possible plus the variations in cp allocation.
i'm beginning to think that 400 is at least an order of magnitude too low

read my edit above, this is a good example why this is just an illusion.

again... yes and no.
i know that some of the variations won't work.
i am not looking for min/max optimal build i am looking for a build that is fun to play - that's the goal for each experiment.
and they are experiments, i do not follow the cookie cutter builds you can find littering the interweb.

Its highly complex and you need to learn it - but over the years that stuff is in your blood and you do it quickly and in the right way. All just a matter of experience.

EVE is PvP-compulsory, so I'd never touch it, ever.
But I'm glad you like it...
For my part, it's not just the difference in abilities that make all my alts special; it's also their personalities, none of them are in any way "clones".

you can play EVE perfectly fine without to ever PvP - but you will always be matter to PvP, because it is enabled everywhere.

That's what I mean, there is no protection from it anywhere, and so I'd automatically not play it. For this reason, UWO has also turned me off ever beginning to play it.
