VDSA, Sanctum ophidia, hel ra, Aetherian Archive => all base content and accessible without paying-> all endgame content at the moment since update 11 with endgame gear.... Your argument that there is no end game content for no subscribers is false, you just don't play the game...
I have to have 11 other people with me to do a single one of those. The only end game content there is for someone whos just doing quests is Craglorn. I had this argument before, ZOS needs more end game content.

As a vanilla player myself, I've always wondered what's stopping people from subscribing to ESO Plus for a month and binging all the DLC content - not tried this because I'm cheap
I've read Orsinium advances the story a little, again i'm cheap and haven't bought it, but that should be free to keep players and incoming players interested like you suggest. Instead, we got Cadwell's Almanac, and yeah PvP can get old fast.
You would think enhancing the game every quarter or so would keep a steady stream of buyers from the vanilla only crowd, but maybe they really need that money from subscribers and DLC buyers to keep their jobs competitive, keeping the forum moderators and customer support from quitting, holiday bonuses, etc. Idk.
I suppose that's their marketing technique. They're gonna be dying to play the new content after a dry spell and will pay for it. Cha-Ching.
I agree with 100% you completely, but the only problem I have is the ESO MMO its self. There are a lot of "cheap" mmos, this didn't seem like one at first with the INSANELY HUGE BETA PLAYER LIST. This is an elder scrolls game so we expect content. Don't get me wrong this is a great voice acted MMO with tons of different quest options let alone the great voice acting. Lack of content is what is killing the game for me.
Speaking as an elder scrolls fan since 99/00 with redguard as a kid, I can't see this game being played more than it's available content. Morrowind easily had at least 500-1000 questsdennissomb16_ESO wrote: »I just assumed this was a troll post. So what if I'm an ESO plus subscriber on console and I'm *** upset I can't play orcinium, or in mobs my game freezes, or in PVP it's unplayable. Then your logic of 15.99 a month paying for the extra content goes down the drain.

It seems you already discovered what Zos is doing to keep you. They are adding content of which you have purchased 2 DLC of content.
There will never be free content. There never has been free content. This isn't a F2P game. Though thei will offer packages of the older DLC at a discount. Eventually.

OR you can buy the new special edition all DLC inclusive !!!! for 59.99$ And then you can laugh with all those idiots (including myself) paying monthly sub for 2.5 years

Craglorn was free to all players who played the gamer after pay to play.
MornaBaine wrote: »WoW still requires you to sub. That's how they pay for those nifty expansions. I and many others wish ZOS had NOT decided to give up the sub model and go B2P precisely because of the situation we are now faced with.
But the larger point is that you are apparently expecting to get something for nothing OP. It is not often I find myself in the position of defending ZOS but I have to say that simply isn't reasonable. For the cost of a sub you'll GET all the new content, just as you do in WOW. Stop paying your sub and the content goes away but you can still play the vanilla game PLUS any DLC you have purchased. With WOW, you stop paying your sub and you lose access to the ENTIRE game.
So what does ZOS intend to do to "keep" players who no longer add to their revenue stream? Nothing, I would imagine. Nor should they.
To those of us who DO continually add to their revenue stream.... they need to be treating us a little better.

This business model appears to be working well for them. If client base starts to dwindle, rest assured that they will make adjustments.
It's their company, and their game. It lives and/or dies by their decisions.

Also I agree with the above poster about the Cyrodiil pvp. I could play it for hours every day and never get bored. It's dynamic and engaging and there are tangible rewards (experience, loot, currency) for participating. This is a great example of something that can keep vanilla players engaged.
One the fundamental concepts of game development is that players can consume your content at a significantly quicker pace than you can ever develop it, so having something were players make their own experience (RP, Pvp, etc) adds a lot of value.

Never could finish WoW not a single character ever got to max level because I'm a casual player. I went back to WoW every expansion but never stuck with it, each time there was limitless content.
ESO I finished all of the faction quests during beta... After launch I pretty much did everything.
Now all I do is do pledges, and trials if I have a good group of people. Sometimes I'll go to PVP but the lag is too terrible. The games content is non-existent for me, it's all the same thing. I'd rather have a bunch of generic quests in new zones than replaying the same old *** for years. This may be an elder scrolls, but it's also a mmo...

Wait, what? I didn't play WoW until WoD came out and did it then just to say, "Hey I played WoW before." Playing super casually I beat all the past content and all the new content and had top end gearscore in one months time. I just sat in my Garrison doing nothing or ran old raids you could solo to try and get a rare mount drop. WoW is the most casually friendly streamlined to max level game there is. Sounds like you barely played it, then came to ESO and hardcored it. And besides, you're comparing content of a 10 plus year old mmo to a two year old one?

Are we expected to run the same old *** over and over again lol? (...) So what does ZOS plan to do to keep it's returning players who don't pay for extra content? Will there ever be a single piece of free content ever again? Is this game 100% price gouging? (...) how about actually giving a damn about your player base?

I don't share your pessimism, all PvE-content focused games need you to buy expansion packs or to be a subscriber for new pve-content, no pay - no pve content. But, beside of that, there is the "PvP world of ESO", which is free to play and there is as good as nothing comparable (except DAOC) on the market, so, YES, ESO fills this unique niche of PvP, that no other game on the market offers (actual mmorpgs). Guild Wars, aswell as WoW, is a joke, compared to ESO/DAOC pvp. ESO pvp variies every day, every minute. The action and the content and the experienced are orchastrated by the players and not by some simple scripts, which make some "..." (I won't write it) people so happy about what they do in pve, to have achieved goals as vMSA, trials, etc. (all nonsense for me!)
I, very sincerely, have played MMORPGs too long and I always have to laugh, deeply and head-shaking, about this "pve-wh__es", who really think progress in PvE is SOOO good.. (doesn't matter if alone or social). Let me tell you: Doing PvE in MMORPGS has no, and I mean absolutely NO, deeper sense.. Time used to practice trials or even vVMA is wasted time for me, imho... I won't specify, as I don't want to discuss this.. PvP forever! (let people play the way they like!)

MMORPG quests are some of the best quests I've played in RPGs.
