Spent two hours looking for a group tonight. Two hours. Was in queue the whole time too. Never found a group and queue never popped.

This needs to be fixed or I probably can't run a dungeon ever again.

I mean I don't want to knock them too much or anything, but how hard is it to make a working group finder? Other MMOs have them, and some have complex matchmaking queues that work. ESO's isn't complex at all: 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 DPS.

I rely on the dungeon finder too but it was actually working for me before the Shadows of the Hist patch.

There are tanks in chat saying they've been in queue for 2 hours without a pop, which should be impossible.

I refuse to believe it's because nobody is using the group finder.

Took me 2.5 hours to find a group for gold and silver pledge playing the LFG chat game. That's an enormous waste of time and it's not like I can be doing something else while spamming chat like I can when using the group finder.

And that's just pledges. I like to run the daily random dungeon too with multiple characters. Standing around spamming chat for each one of them grows very tiring very fast.

Fix it.

It didn't work for almost two years. Several patches said it was fixed. It wasn't.

Then, when we least expected it, you actually made it work. It was glorious. For a few months we could reliably get groups, and bonus xp and rewards.

Then...you broke it again. You did a hot fix that didn't fix it. Then you said in patch notes that it was fixed. It wasn't. Then you said in a different patch that it was fixed. It's not. It's like 2014-2015 all over again.

Please.

Is the finder broken or are not enough of each role using it?

Being a software developer myself, I think ZOS has done an amazing job creating such a huge and complex game, but breaking existing functionality, and not having it fixed for this long is unnerving. The Group Finder is one of the most important features for me, and loved it when it was working.

ZOS, please give this one top priority before piling on new stuff to make more money on.

The ridiculous thing is there's like 50 people standing around at the enclave but yet no one can form a group on their own.

I play daily with another player. If he is group lead and queues in AF it takes ages for us to find a group. If I am lead them it literally takes a few seconds and we're thrown into a group.

so what level are you, what class, etc. thatd be interesting to know since Ive tried both tank and healer with 2+ hours of waiting for each role. Even with a tank and healer (me playing either role with a friend) we still have to wait 2+ hours for the queue unless we spam the chat

Problem with using chat box to form groups is that so many people are also doing the same, that it means the lifetime of your posting in the average size window is far too short to get much attention.

This is pure speculation on my part, but the Group Finder smacks a lot of one of those problem areas where devs are trying to fix with code, what really amounts to a design issue. As a developer, you can tell your management until you are blue in the face that it's over complicated, over engineered tripe, but its amazing how very few managers are willing to entertain such notion. They aren't thinking about the best way to get it working properly (i.e throw it in the bin and start again) they are thinking about how they are going to explain all the wasted man hours that have gone into it.

Ok, so clearly I have no idea what really is the issue with the group finder. But if anything above has the ring of truth about it, then I'd urge ZOS to recognise that sometimes you have to take a step backwards before you can take two steps forward. Bin it and do something that works!!!
