Moderation isn't Communication

Looking at the ZOS tags in the forums and 95% of them are just forum moderators deleting posts, not someone from ZOS answering any questions or providing constructive responses.

Is their any chance we could get a "Full" response of all the bugs and issues plaguing this game and what the response time will be on correcting these issues?

How do the developers feel about the state of the game at this time?

As soon as the Communications team finishes eating there donuts this morning, how about formulating a response to the ESO community here.

That's something that needs to be said more as an official statement, and they don't want to make any statements until they actually have something at the ready to back it up. All they can do right now is say, "Yeah we know that this is a problem.", and they've already said that.

    well...
the 95% moderations we have is to help to keep our internal opiniated discussions within boundaries of decency and being effective and productive.
To keep our Forum decent and respectful.
That internal exchange of opinions, feelings, facts and arguments between forum members, is also for ZOS a useful feedback.

I did not suck that out of my right thumb....
It is what you can read in the sticky official thread: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/268619/promoting-constructive-discussion-on-the-forums-and-adjusting-moderation#latest
So ZOS can eat their donuts at their leisure, because they already formulated that response to the ESO community here

Regarding the 5% ZOS feedback on top:
those are mostly related to clear and often very immediate bugs (NOT opiniated issues)
and if you check back those ZOS posts, you will see that they often ask for more detailed feedback to help with the bug fixing.

And we do see now and then a sticky thread from ZOS where they invite us to discuss some special topic, with so far a good explanation in their OP of their thoughts and considerations they like to share with us to get a better discussion.

And yes, I would like to see more of those general threads of ZOS, sharing their thoughts, giving some info we cannot readily know, helping the quality of our discussions.

I played a lot of other MMOs. And I didn't get as much response from Devs/Mods as I get here on the public forum.

Played The Lord Of The Rings Online for almost 10 years. NEVER got any response on the forums from a dev except of a producer letter once a year or sometimes in the PTS area.

I was in a 'private test server program'. We tested builds there before they came to the public test server. There you could actually chat with devs or even test things inGame with them. >:)

Haaa, skippy.. funny, man. Rough crowd in here. Although, I'm not sure what or why people's taste buds are so into peanut butter. Just me.. my taste buds say yucky!

I can agree a bit, though. There should be an explanation for each thread that is locked or pending to be locked or to be deleted. There are some explanations, whereas there are some without. It could depend on that individual moderator, but there should a blanket policy for this matter, if there is not already one in place.

Zos and the developers communicate much to us. ESO Live, Redit As Us Anything are just a couple of their means to regularly communicate with us.

Many threads in the forums ask questions that have already been answered multiple times by devs and as such do not warrant a response from the devs as a result. On top of that Zos employees such as @ZOS_GinaBruno and @ZOS_JessicaFolsom do post replies in the forums answering questions and asking for more information on issues players bring up.

So does Zos communicate with players, yes and better what occurs in many games. Am I care bear, fanboy, etc., if you read through the many posts I have made you will find many critical of how Zos manages the game. But this is one point they actually do pretty good on.

We're aware this is a problem, and ideally moderation posts wouldn't leave an icon on threads (but would benefit from other visibility features, to ensure posts are readily visible when scanning a thread). A proper fix for this is more complicated than adjusting permissions, as forum moderators also answer many support questions, and we want people to know when we're replying to those threads.

As others have suggested, the Dev Tracker is the best way to find more detailed responses from the developers and the community managers.

In June we began more actively moving threads to their appropriate forums, which was announced here. So threads discussing the new dungeons launched this week are being moved to the dungeon forum, while discussion of crown store pricing has been moved to the crown store forum. It's not just General Discussion either, we did a pass of the PvE forums last week to clean up guild and campaign threads posted there.

There's a lot more we can do on this front, but we've intentionally been increasing this slowly to prevent forums like General Discussion from being a see of thread redirects. The intention isn't to hide these discussions, and being moved to dedicated forums should ensure they don't get pushed off the main page so quickly. We do need to improve traffic in those areas as well, but this should improve in time as people follow the discussions. We have some other thoughts on improving this as well.

Don't you kind of have to decide exactly what are GLOBAL bugs and issues and not just issues being suffered by individual players at any given time?

i would guess that we would need to do a data mine/analysis that would include:
    1) The bug/issue/glitch
    2) Platform and Server effected
    3) Exact circumstances and number of users effected and.......

Yeah, the dev was commenting on someone who came into a pleasant thread about playing the game and game experiences to crap over it with WHY DON'T YOU FIX YOUR POS BROKEN GAME???!??!?!?!?

Really pointless to ask/accuse/harass a dev who was answering questions about characters and gameplay who couldn't respond to the accusations. If you can't stand the game, if you think it stinks that much, if your experiences suck so abysmally, you don't have to be here. For some people nothing a dev could say would be enough to satisfy their demands for explanations, reasons, and evidence. Anything a dev does say will immediately be torn apart, read into, read between the letters, and otherwise taken out of context and chiseled into granite to be dragged out at a future point to scream TEH DEVS LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People are finding major bugs and glitches, so they take the game down for a patch. People are complaining about the unscheduled maintenance. They finish early, and people are complaining because the maintenance didn't last as long as predicted. If the patch takes longer than predicted people are still complaining. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Why on Nirn would any dev ever set foot in the forums?

There are many who consider the vast majority of topics devs address in the Dev Tracker to be a complete waste of time. This is, of course, a matter of opinion. Personally, I think trolling someone who wants Devs to pay attention to community feedback is immature. Only on very rare occasions does something on these forums have any real impact.

    To the OP:
Moderators are not Developers. Their job is not to create/fix/change/rebalance/analyze/etc any form of content in-game. Their job is to uphold forum policies. Providing insight to game mechanics or attempting to solve an issue someone may have is perhaps an extension of that responsibility, but to expect moderators to be the catalyst for change is not exactly a reasonable expectation.

Not only this, but it was in a thread where the dev was talking about his personal experience as a player of the game. The "you know you don't have to be here" was probably referring to that particular thread. It was probably poor judgement for a lead dev to post something like that since it will now be forever quoted and memed out of context, but it is not universally indicative of how ZOS feels about its customers and to use it in such a way is disingenuous.
