I think the game is laggy enough already without it needing to look up what color you dyed what ability.

For us in PvP some abilities have important visuals which are cues to respond (such as block, dodge roll, cast a debuff, etc.).

Changing the color might occasionally change our response time ... or type of response altogether.

Not an entirely stupid idea, however.

Warframe doesn't just do it well. It does skill/energy coloring perfectly! I had hoped text chat on ESO would be similar to Warframe as well.

No its stupid

While i dont think it is stupid, it was the only no option.

In a game with no damage meter and no buff/debuff tracker you need to be able to quickly and easily tell what people did to you. Being able to change color of abilities messes with that.

So I would vote no. If they ever bothered to add some way for me to tell what is going on other then the animation, then sure.

I hate that stam DK got forced into green fire nonsense years after people had figured out what aesthetic they were going for and would LOVE to be able to stay stam and just have my orange fire back. And if I get to change it up to blue and purple on occasion as a bonus then YEAH!

I'd say it sounds awesome, but it's never going to happen. We should focus on other things (that we know will never really happen) like fixing PvP, offering actual incentive to do end game PvE, and balancing classes.

As long as it is not implemented in pvp, I would be fine with it. But as OP probably also wants it enabled for pvp, it's a no for me. This could very well confuse people when pvping.

Actually about 8% of the male population have some form of colour-blindness, so I wouldn't want people to be able to pick their own colours to display on their character.

It would be good if a player could choose to change the default display colours for 'red circles', and effects on a character etc. so that they could see important effects in different colours than the default, to account for colour-blindness, but that change in display would only be for them.

But I don't think it fits in ESO, I'd rather they fix the game to be honest.

I agree with both of you in a sense, despite your different answers. We need a way to recognize what people are doing, and also I could see the esthetic of the entire game ruined potentially by something like this. I don't know about you but I don't want to see Black radiant destruction attacks, or pink dark flares. I think maybe in another game it would make more sense (like in city of heroes).
