I am creating this Discussion because of the major lag in towns. Then I thought what if all towns where like "Out of bound" for casting useless spells all the time. I'm sure that would help some, I know there are some quest in town. But I am sure there are other options or Ideas to Improve this. Either way this town lag is crazy, If I have a town quest I can't hardly do it. Because some guy is following spamming whatever. Anyway I hope someone takes some action on this issue. Instead of having gain on other people's loss.....

    If I get hit with one more of those dumb - "Guess what? You're now the Flash!" spells while I'm in town just doing my business, I'm gonna ask for the ability to slaughter my fellow gamers EVERYWHERE! Not to mention whatever that one that makes me end up with green glow-lights swirling about me for about 10 minutes.

    Most towns have quests within them with possible combat in a number of them. Cannot have zero use of abilities as a result.

    Many of these quests require a town setting. It's the premise of them. Larger the town the more quests within it.

    That is exactly what I am talking about. Let's say your trying to "Balance" your character after respec.... you can't do it. Better leave town with no skills and you better not go into the woods or something. And god forbid you port from town to town you might get D/C'd.

    That's why I stated at the beginning of my Discussion I know there are town quest. Well lets say We have a "Circle" which is a Barrier and it is about the size of Mournhold or any city. Then in this circle there are 3 other circles where spell can be cast but, It would still be outside of the barrier because it is not in the same dimension so to say. That would also help people see who is spamming for no reason. Also a circle for Ports!!

    This would be an issue ZOS needs to fix, not nerf players abilities.

    (though fix isn't in the ZOS developers vocabulary it seems)

    Just putting it out there, but you realize there's a DLC in which you travel around in towns and kill people right? If you're caught and the guards get to you, you have the option of fleeing, or defending yourself. (also as mentioned above the numerous quests within the towns, that really only work within the town setting, and cant be reworked so you solve them with words) This aspect has been in every elder scrolls game, and even within a lot of other MMOs. I get your goal is to reduce the lag due to players just randomly casting spells, but it sounds more like a punishment to everyone instead of a fix.

    How do other people gain exactly?

    Personally, I think more instances are needed for each location.

    Blocking ability uses would mess with the Thieves and Brotherhood DLC. I originally thought maybe blocking abilities if you are not in combat, but I don't think that would work either.

    The best solution I see is to just have less people per instance. Or give players an easy way to switch instances. Or something on those lines.
    Why be normal when you can be better?

    I always loved Aions ability to change channels. Simple clean pull down menu. 1-3 were usually the busy ones. Want a quiet experience? Channel 5-10. Obviously couldnt do it in combat. But could do it in the world. Oh world boss dead? Lets look on the next channel.

    Oh well. To late for that now.

    I have heard from a few people that by lagging up the battle field and killing players while they are in a Lag. It is easy to earn AP from this. Because they can't fight back.

    If the Guards took ability casting as an attack, even if it was just some random self heal, or an AoE boost ability ,and you received a bounty or increased a current bounty for doing it, thus attacked by the invulnerable guards, people would probably do it less frequently.

    On PC EU I have as well never experienced this as a source of lag, it is just an annoyance, but not a performance problem. This said, it could cause an fps drop on weaker graphic cards due to the high amount of particle effects.
