In Cyrodiil Town Capture. Even if DC owns a town Like Vlastarus, if AD owns, Brindle or Roebeck (Not sure which one) There will be random roaming AD Guards around the town, even if the Town is owned by DC.

I don't want to sound rude but how was this not fixed, despite being told from multiple people that it is an issue? If an Alliance owns a Town then there should not be random Guards from another Alliance walking around it.

I couldn't agree more. The entire town IMO needs to be the same Alliance that owns it. It should be like attacking a resource/keep, everyone at that town should be fighting against you while your trying to take it over. They can't do that when the roaming guards are fighting against the flag guards....

The guards have to do with whichever faction owns the keeps nearby. I imagine the intent was that if you don't own the nearby keep then it becomes a little more difficult to take the town.

I feel in general all the guards in these towns need to be buffed. They are much weaker than the NPCs at resources and they melt pretty quickly to the average solo player.

It wasn't fixed because that's the zenimax way. If you can't fix stuff in time for a release, release it anyway and ignore it for a year or two, then implement the worst bandaid fix you can think of. Done.

We all know the Guards are linked with who owns the keep. But now Towns are Capturable, they shouldn't be. It makes no sense for them to be there.

They are not there for an 'Intent' they are simply there because that's how Towns worked before Town Capture and ZOS were too lazy to change it.

I don't want to sound rude, but how did you not know that it is this way by design? Wheeler said himself, it was left this waytomake the towns feel more alive.

Then the design doesn't make any sense. Multiple people spoke about it on PTS and how it seemed stupid. It makes no sense that there are random Guards from other Alliances in the towns.

Doesn't matter if it makes sense to you, it's how the designer made and explained why they did it that way.

I would not change something I made just because a few people cannot understand why it was done that way

    (Sigh)

It was not 'designed' though. Those guards were there before Town Capture was added, because it made sense for Towns to be linked to the area of the Keep that was owned by an Alliance.

Just because they couldn't be bothered to change how it worked before when adding a new system like Town Capture and the developer made a statement just so they wouldn't have to do any actual work to fix it does not mean it is meant to be that way.

I'm sick of arguing with ZOS defending White Knights. I can't be bothered anymore, you'll defend anything ZOS does, even if it makes no sense or should be changed. (From the many comments of PTS) Just because 'Someone at ZOS said so'? someone at ZOS also said to Roll out that God awful Breton Costume. Doesn't mean it should be that bad.

Last couple games Ive played have all been like that. They basically use the test realm to find out if the patch will blow up the servers, and fix any store problems they find. Everything else is given the hand wave. We will look into this.

Seems the way companies do it now.

Also, something on top of this. In Bruma, the Guards on the Middle Flag are Hostile towards the Bruma NPC's. As the Bruma NPC's are invincible, they fight, damaging the Alliance Guards forever and killing them too.

This is less of an issue but also is annoying as you cannot help your own Alliances Guards by killing the Bruma NPC's.

It comes off as a flaw, no matter how much someone intended it to be that way and it looks bad ingame, imo.

Even if they did intend it, how hard would it be to make a post stating why it's like that or in fact it is bugged.

A simple search in the forums would have yielded that this is an intended mechanic.

I've attached the post from @ZOS_BrianWheeler here below. Personally, I think the guards are the least of our worries ... when an enemy group can roll through at any time.

The guards from opposing Alliances patrolling in enemy held towns is currently as we designed it to bring a little "life" to Cyrodiil towns, much like how guards and Dremora NPCs fight in Bruma.

There has always been a request for having more "visible fights" between the alliances and while this is a very small skirmish in the grand scheme, we liked how this plays out as the guards of the towns always kill off any would be enemy attacker NPCs. It also gives a further benefit of Alliance patrols in these towns if you capture the nearby Keeps and capture the towns.

There is no way this is working as intended.

The Bruma Guards fighting is a bigger issue than it seems, despite being intended. Due to Bruma Guards being invincible the Alliance Guards on the Centre Flag will surely die after a while? Meaning if someone goes to take a town, it will be far easier than intended due to the Guards being killed.

The Alliance Guards fighting I guess makes sense as ti shows Alliance conflict, however it does not look like they are attacking the town due to it being owned by a different Alliance, it looks like they are patrolling a lot of the time, which is a bit silly in my eyes, as why would they patrol a town they don't own.
