Standard software development estimate - have a guess how long and multiply by 4.

    And then overrun!

Yes sadly its always the same bs people in EU lose day becouse of this, sence zos simply only care the NA side. And side note to this, can we divide sub's based on the days in month's so people in EU can pay avarege of 2 days less than people in NA, sence clearly we can also enjoy this game less ;)

Prime time is approx 18:00 to 2:00.
With up to 8h of maintenance, i don't think it's possible to make people all over the world happy, so all you can do is try to avoid prime-time as good as possible. As it stands, people in America are best off, eastern russia worst. Given how ESO is played is not really a thing in sea/china, i guess the current time-slot is the best they could do. Perfect for NA makes decent for western Europe. Perfect for Europe would mean decent for a region with few to no players and terrible / prime-time for NA.

However, given quite a few Russians play this game, I think moving times ~2hours earlier, would probably be better. Plus, west-cost people would maybe go to bed in time that way ^^

Yes those 2 hours would make huge difference in many people. In my eyes there should be middle ground to this and not just what is best for NA side.

Thanks all. I'll wait until after dinner tonight to try.

It's more likely to be around tea time in UTC - dinner is several hours later.
That's largely a cultural thing. Judging by the timestamps, the OP isn't in the UK, so they might not even have such a thing as tea time.

Well, tea time is not just a british thing, it is a commonwealth thing actually. And with it it is on every continent including antarctic, station McMordo has english scientists. And there are otherwise countries on every continent, which are members of the commonwealth and adapted the habit of tea time.

Just an example each that you get the idea:

    Europe - UK obviously
    Asia - India
    Australia - commonwealth nation
    Africa - south africa
    North America - Canada
    South America - Guayana
    Antarctic - Station McMurdo

    Tea time in Canada?

You've got to be kidding me.

It is even a growing trend in canada - https://blogs.technomic.com/tea-time-in-canada/

Well, it happened a couple of times in EVE online, that they were done with a patch earlier than expected and their scheduled times are quite short anyway. It does happen.

This better be one Hell of an amazing DLC and it better be the last DLC they make for the next few months/years,
first fix 95% at least of all that needs to be fixed in the game before thinking about another (un-needed) DLC.....

Europe has a couple of time zones, so to state a time without the time zone shortcut is not telling a lot.

Nope. Denmark is currently UTC+02:00 and it would be 10pm for you, yes.

    It's 8pm GMT, 9pm BST and 10pm CEST.

Well it looks like I will not be able to play at all today. I got to bed at 2230 so I can get up at 0530 and not feel like a zombie. I guess I'll be taking a walk in the forest after dinner as well.

Denmark is usually UTC+1 (CET time zone) but because of Daylight Savings Time it is currently UTC+2 (CEST time zone).

EVE Online is a no-no word on this forum, their servers are light years ahead in terms of what they can handle. ESO calculator cluster can't handle 4x300 people campaigns...

It is just like UK time, Daemons_Bane, it is normally GMT, but in summer it is BST, which is GMT+1. We in south africa do not have daylight saving time, our time zone SAST is GMT+2 all year round, which is currently the same as in central europe, but otherwise an hour ahead of it. We have winter currently and it is near sunset - sun is pretty much above the horizon and it will be dark soon, even it is just 16:21 yet. Well, winter south africa style - means around 19 degree C above zero

I was speaking in the context of Europe, where the OP most likely resides. Admittedly, Africa has a few Commonwealth countries in the same timezone, but even so, "dinner time" is such a vague term when you're talking to internet strangers from all walks of life.
