OP btw. these items are not overpriced, when people get 100-200 of them before they get one with the right trait. I'd recomend you to farm the dungeons yourself and see what an RNG fest it is.

But 12 people run 1 trial. So the chance that things drop is very very high. If all trial members decide to sell, then we have plenty of offerings on the stores.
During the first week, people will probably try to get things themselves before selling anything.

Have to stop you right there. You would think that the drop chance is "very very high", but you'd be wrong. Loot tables in trials are MASSIVE. The odds of getting the piece you want, even with 12 people running it, are not great. We've been chain-running normal SO trying to get elegant swords for our group's sorc. Today (just as an example), we had groups going for 10 HOURS of speed runs. Not a single sword dropped. Not just no sharpened swords- no swords PERIOD. We've been farming for weeks (not 10 hours a day, but multiple runs nearly every day). We have yet to get the weapons we are after.

It all goes back to supply and demand. If the supply was "very very high", then prices would be FAR lower than they are now.

With the maintainance in progress at the moment, I just have one request for those who are going to the better-scaled trials in Craglorn: DON'T ask too much for set that'll now scale to cp160, like the Warlock, Necropetence, Salvation, Red Mountain, etc., sets. If the piece has a decent trait and good quality (like purple), only ask at most 10k gold. Don't rip people off. Thank you.

HAHa bro I don't think we met... Aika Asahari-Dream Crusher!...Set of the Sun is BiS for mag DK and since you need only with divines trust me is a pain to get hence I will ask for 500-1mil... depending on diversity and how rare is that part...if you cut a khajiit...we bleed gold! =^.^=

Don't think people want anything from the Newly scaled trials for themselves as far as the PVE is concerned. Aether/ ophidian/ Moondancers etc etc is already being farmed and most of the people have it. Those who don't will be able to get rest of the pieces after trading goes live. From the New scaled trials gear are okish. And mostly Pee v Pee'rs might want it.

Well... I'll put it this way... I just did 11 hours of normal Sanctum loot farm runs with my guild (I've done a total of about 20 hours in the past week). Lowest amount of people we had was 1 run with 8 people.... not a single one of us got an Elegant sword. One person was specifically farming for Vicious Ophidian jewelry, he got 1 piece. I got one Aether piece that I needed, and the rest of us got Shadow Dancer, Viper, or Dregh King. My favorite was the training inferno staff of Dregh King.

So first hurdle is to get the set you're looking for, second is to get a viable piece from that set, third is finding a viable trait for it (training and prosperous are still going to be on the table). That is why items are so damn expensive. 20 hours of my time running one place to get one item for a raid member... and all of us turned up empty handed.

Had enough of that for my life. in appx 20-30 runs got 1 ring of alkosh and 1 lunar bastion neck.

That works fine if you are farming for items to sell to make gold. In Rayya and I's case, we were farming for a specific item for a guildmate's build. Since we weren't after jewelry, speed-running as many normals as possible was the most efficient way to get what we were after.

but then here i am, willing to spend between 1 and 2m for my desired equip (including legendary jewelry). it's all a matter of offer and demand. sure, these sets (at leased used to) drop frequently. but if one of them is considered BiS for a halfway popular build, a buyer has two choices: wait some weeks before he can wear the perfect traits, or spend millions. likewise, those that can farm efficiently soon after the patch, can make a nice profit.

regarding necropotence: i didn't find enough people to duel me on pts. if this remains a pet-build set, it will drop in price fairly quick. imho pure pet builds are not and will not be suited for open-world cyrodiil pvp. the most prominent pet sorc spending most time in IC makes me thibnk I'm not alone with this observation. however, if:
    a) mages builds with at least one pet become very popular in solo pvp
    b) magicka nbs with shadow image become popular in pvp

we're looking at something that people, who need gold, can farm for quite some time.

If necrop becomes used in a top-end pve dps build and promoted in a youtube video with a dps parse powered by a perfect raid group's support (tbh I don't expect it to happen, but who knows. I wouldn't count tbs + necrop out and especially not necrop + elegant on overload sorcs for all content with rather short boss fights), we're looking at the next items that make up most of trading guild's revenue

    What Boggie said and at some points we had people who had never been in the content and in some cases, people who weren't even lvl 50 let alone CP160. The DPS to wrangle down Ozara wasn't there and the coordination we have between the group wouldn't have been there. Actually, the majority of the runs I was the only healer O_O;;

Regardless, I get ya. RNG would have potentially been a tad kinder if we had taken the other route. Still tons of fun to get everyone together to try their hand at RNGlottery. I already told them I'm probably not setting foot in nSO next week at all :P

These things are usually dictated by how often something drops combined with how many players want it. Sometimes players can drive up prices of things (thanks for the ridiculous prices on alchemy mats, luvboard xD), but that will never be the sole reason something is expensive.

I agree. Most of these sets are easily farmable. Look at Necropotence right now, it only costs a few 100 gold on the stores. The V16 version won't cost much more if you are reasonable.

Either way, the price will drop rapidly. During the first few days, it will be something special because everyone wants to get their hands on most of these sets and especially the golden yewelry. But this won't last for long, it's just too easy to farm. 2 golden yewelry for 1 HM run ??? That's too easy.

Give it 1 week max and you will get this gear for free almost.

Expect high prices. No one runs AA and HR because the sets only scale to V12. When they are worth running again they will take MUCH longer to complete and require more skill.
Why spend an hour running a trial if you can make more money farming mats and it requires no skill?

Being reasonable in this instance won't stop the prices going up at all. They should go up. Such is life.

And the gear will go down in price at the rate of SO gear, maybe slightly quicker but not by much.

I'm not against high prices. I like economy and enjoy it, when players have a reason to farm trials and dungeons.
All I'm saying, is that the prices will drop rapidly.

Which means ppl either have to wait for prices to drop or pay the early adopter tax on the new sets.

I´m pretty confident necropotence is going to be very high demand given the right traits or on jewelry slots.

Why would it be in high demand ? Nobody wants to play pet builds. Necropotence is the cheapest dungeon set at the moment and it won't change much in proportion to other sets. A few people will try it, because they believe it'll make pet builds work> they realize that even with 100k magicka pets deal no damage and will drop the set again> price drops.

as soon as new Sypher's build will come out, with Necropotence inside, the prices will skyrocket again

the same thing like it was with Skirmisher
it was very cheap until Sypher's guide
    and then...

now it less or more in normal

Because a nightblade can activate the 5p setbonus with shades which makes this set debateably BIS gear for magblades.
