$20+ for a name change. Im out

It is a bit much. I thought race change might on the high end be 1000-1500 (I have heard 3000) crowns and name change 500-750 crowns and I had planned to change a few races and a name or two but at these prices I would rather re-roll. They are probably not going to make as much over all with such jacked up prices when they could probably have raked in a lot more with bulk for cheaper. Pricing themselves right out of a large market. It is bad enough that we are going to pay 1500c for two dungeons with no new zone for almost the same price as TG and DB. This one is just a cash grab and if they keep it up eventually many of us will just say no thanks and move on. I could really live with just subbing one month a year and blow through the story content if this keeps up.

This is one of the worst pricing decisions I have ever saw in my life, however I really don't care since name change is really something the is really not a big deal, so just live with the name you first gave your character no biggie.

By making them more than an impulse buy, ZOS is offering the service if you absolutely must change your name but making you think twice before actually doing it. I think that's pretty responsible of them.

Yeah.. and so many names currently on ESO are outright ridiculous and must be changed. Lol! I would put down some of those names, just for examples, but I'm too afraid it will turn things into a naming and shaming and get this thread locked. Sheesh..

Lol honestly on a game called Runescape if you're a member name change is free. I feel as an ESO+ subscriber you should get free name changes as well and the price of a name change should be no more than 500 crowns IMO.

You suspect wrong. Most of us are on the forums while at our jobs. Because if we weren't working we'd be playing, and not posting.

You do know harassment would be tied to the account and not the character right? Changing a character's name would have no effect on that case scenario.

Even so, if you are being harassed by someone in game, that's what the report function is for. Worst case, GMs will still have the authority to change your characters' names, if it's absolutely necessary.

I've seen some. But I have the feeling that the name change option will give us even more people with crap names like "Campbells Tomato Soup", "life cereal", and "xXBongz4lyfXx" running around, not fewer of them.

I disagree. People are too cheap to spend $20 to change their name to something stupid. This name change will just help those that created a stupid name and wished they hadn't an opportunity to change it.

As far as more people having those kinds of names, it's going to happen, always does in an MMO.

Nah, I have no stake in what people name their toons in games, and I certainly don't care enough to report anybody. I just roll my eyes and move on.

I personally think that the name change option is so irrelevant (especially if you're on console because you have gamertags) that they should group it in with the race change.

Race Change right now is 3000 and includes the ability to change your hair style, features etc... Might as well add in the name change as an option as well - keep your old name or enter a new name before saving changes. If 3000 crowns is too low for the trifecta, add 500 crowns making it 3500.

I really don't care for the name change, I'm not really into the hardcore RP stuff so the name of my characters is whatever to me; so this is just an idea to help round out the hate for a 2000 crown name change.

On the bright side, they did mention they are going to offer bundles on all 3 for the first couple weeks or so I believe. They posted all the info in the news post.

it is not mandatory to change any of your chars names so you can just play on as they are now and you dont have to spend crowns on it

The name change price is a bit much. Probably one of the most expensive name changes compared to most active MMOs.

I honestly wonder if the name change will break the Rings of Mara. Those actually key off character names. I think there's a few other systems that do as well.
