Why ESO PVP totally sucks now (it ain't the lag).

I'm by no means a "casual player" (meaning, playing only on weekends or when husband/wife/kids permits). I played a lot, I have learned a lot. However, I'm not living this game, I have lots of other interests and a creative job. I don't know every tip, every secret, every armour combo.

But mostly all I see in Trueflame are either rookie players or unkillable beasts (trolls) that just hang around and we follow around. Just when you think they're over, bam, they have 100% health again. It's fun for a while, but unless you are totally, 1001% focused on this game, Cyrodiil becomes tiresome and tedious. Why? Because it becomes the fight of the Titans who know every weakness, every armour and weapon combo. Hats of to them, but the rest of us can mostly follow our own Titans (if any) in a group. Not that much of a fun.

IC is much much better though. But again, same happens. Too much overpowered people ganking in the corners.
Anyway, I feel like I need a long break from this game, at least the PVP side of it. I feel I miss Skyrim more and more. But I do eagerly wait for One Tamriel.

For the record, it's not reasonable to make the argument that magicka types are viable because one magicka class is somewhat competitive in PvP. Magicka templars are effective for unintended reasons. Magicka types are not designed to wear heavy armor. It reduces their magicka pool, while medium armor keeps their stamina pool up and their defense sufficient (plus shuffle spam). Next, malabeth is broken and will likely get a much needed nerf. RD is also over performing. In my honest opinion, I think the only reason they haven't removed it is because without it, Tepmlar actually really really really suck. But that's a conversation for another time.

Stamina types overall > magicka types overall in PvP period. That needs to change if the developers want to keep played from leaving the game (the ones who aren't willing to bend and play a FOTM class just to be competitive).

    1) I'd love to hear an explanation as to why Magicka types are not designed to wear heavy armor, but Stamina types are. It seems that you don't have a very accurate grasp of what the armor bonuses actually do... Magicka AND Stamina builds make the same sacrifices and gain the same bonuses when they switch to heavy armor.

    2) How does wearing heavy armor reduce you resource pool? Which passive did you misread to make you think you have more Magicka wearing light armor?

You're signature reads, "MY TRI-FACTION MAGICKA SQUAD." Perhaps more time invested in learning what the builds you don't play are actually capable of would be beneficial?

1 and 2. You misread my comment =) I said stamina types are designed to wear medium armor.

    3. This is an ad hominem fallacy. I won't bite because idgaf. It's my opinion. Make your own rather than trying to rip apart someone else's on technicality and poor logic.

I feel like all the people who think stamina and magicka are even either only plays stamina or is in a zerg 24/7. Play solo on a magicka class for a week or two and come back and say that they are balanced. Stamina isn't ruining the game or anything and if you are a magicka user you can still have fun and if you are good you can be effective, it's just a lot harder in cyrodiil if you are a magicka user. PvP is just far less forgiving for magicka

I'm done with PVP in this game. It's horrible. And I highly advise that others quit PVP as well, before it ruins the game for you too. While rng from PVE can be highly infuriating, nothing compares to the frustration experienced in PVP. Whether it be from: Bugs, exploits, class unbalance, lag, skill unbalance, etc.

Even with all that I still would rather play PvP than play PvE. It's just more fun for me to kill players than it is for me to kill NPC's. Class balance is an issue but if you are good any class can be effective. the only thing about PvP that's unbearable sometimes is the lag. But if it's really laggy I just play in IC, PvP is still fun and I feel like it's a lot more rewarding than PvE.

In what way did I misread it? You're statements seem very straightforward.
Magicka types are not designed to wear heavy armor. It reduces their magicka pool, while medium armor keeps their stamina pool up and their defense sufficient (plus shuffle spam).
It looks like you're saying that:
1)"Magicka types are not designed to wear heavy armor:"which is plainly false.
    2) [Heavy Armor]"It reduces their magicka pool:" LA gives no bonuses to Magicka, only recovery. A certain player wearing LA would have the same magicka pool as one in HA.
    3) "...medium armor keeps their stamina pool up and their defense sufficient." You mean like magicka does in same way through recovery (plus shield spam)? Do you see where I'm going with this? Both Magicka and Stamina benefit equally from Heavy armor. Light armor and Medium armor and mirrors of each other, benefiting magicka and stamina builds respectively. The fact that stamina wears medium has no bearing on overall stamina vs. magicka balance for the reason stated above.

I don't mean to "rip apart your opinion on technicality and poor logic." I'm commenting to show that the very clear statements you made (whether you meant to say something else or not) are false. This is more to the others skimming the forums than to you I suppose. :)

I stand by the statement that magicka types are designed to wear light armor (unless they are tanks) and not heavy armor. You think that's false, but just because you state that it is so, doesn't make it false. After all, what's your evidence? Mine is lore, the marketing of magicka types, and media.

The technically was my use of "resource pool". You're using it as synonymous with a max magicka buff, which light armor passive do not give. However, it's obvious that by having increased recovery and spell reduce costs (two passives of light armor), magicka classes can get more spells with their pool.

    In comparison:
-a DPS stamina player will wear medium armor. Not only do they have more survivability than a light armored magicka DPS player, they also get to enjoy their stamina regen passive.
-a DPS magicka player will wear heavy armor? losing their spell reduction cost and recovery. How is that even?

Thanks for dropping the ad hominum, because even though it's not on my sign. I have played stamina types. I have a maxed out Stam DK, Stamplar, and Stam NB. My preference for magicka classes is purely for role play, and I imagine there are others out there like me. I want to fight things with flashes and explosion, not sword stabs and uppercuts.

Consider using different phrasing, perhaps. Many, myself included read "magicka pool" as "max magicka." I don't know how else that could be interpreted, honestly. :D

My evidence? The fact that some of the strongest (not necessarily FOTM) builds, both Magicka and Stamina, run 5 pc Heavy armor in Cyrodiil. The fact that Heavy armor grants what is equivalent to ~650 Magicka Regen when taking damage (consider that vs. 28% magicka regen that LA grants. If you had ~1000 regen you'd get a whopping ~280 from 7 LA. Ofc, you'd also have to factor in the cost reducion.). The fact that Heavy Armor grants Spell damage when taking damage. Magicka and Stamina have equal access to and use of the Heavy armor line. To be clear, I'm not saying that Heavy is better for Magicka DPS in PVP. I'm saying is very viable, and arguing against your statement that "magicka types are not designed to wear heavy armor." I did notice that even in your restatement you're much more specific now, so thanks for that. ;)

The great thing about ESO, is that you can stick to wearing a dress to fulfill whatever lore based desires and dreams you like. The rest of us are free to theorycraft builds that do not stick to stereotypical archetypes, yet perform at the same or higher levels.

    We need new skills !
TG and DB, should have provided us the PvP skills/passives that our class lacked but it didnt. So, that's why we get this kinda poor fix.
