Did they announce that you can turn off text chat on console?

pecheckler✭✭✭✭✭I'm happy that i'll be able to communicate on PS4 without the constant noise from people in the background, screaming children and wives, additional televisions on in the same room, loud rap music, mouth breathers, microphone feedback, or a hundred other disturbances that result in me instantly leaving voice chat.
It's my least favorite aspect of the console version, even more so than the graphics fidelity. Voice chat is much better on PC because those who use it 1.) Use push to talk, and 2.) normally don't play in locations with other noise present like a family room.
End the tedious inventory management game.3 -
ScottK1994✭✭✭To be fair even in most MMOs (eso is moderately rare in it's voice area chat) you can toggle chat off.
It will still always allow those who want to see chat do so and those that don't need it have a way to avoid distractions.
What I want to know if there's a real private mail/reply to chat system, the mail system to speak to a person is so clunky I always send messages via PS4 dashboard
