I like light and heavy armour. All medium looks pretty ordinary. Ya need a costume to cover that crap up.

i usually prefer armor because i can mix and match.
that being said i like costumes because it doesnt matter how horrible is my current armor if i have a nice costume to hide it XD

Although I really like my armor set, I also really like Costumes!

The pirate costumes from the shop and the black robes from the dark brotherhood are LOVE!

Armor

Armor usually, but it depends on the armor style.

For instance, If I'm wearing armor from TG, I'll wear a disguise or costume since TG armor looks awful (imo) on my female toons.

My costumes are great, but I can't wear them too often or it messes with my signature look. Though when costume dyeing comes out I'll probably put them on a bit more because then I can *~*`*Express Myself*`*~* better!

On the PC there is an addon called PimpMyRide ( http://esoui.com/downloads/info1140-PimpmyRide-MountsCostumesVanity....html ) that will automatically change your Costume/Disguise when you change zones.

Armor

Armor usually, the only time I use costume is when I get tired of looking at the same gear for a long period of time. I have the sets I need for end game content but sometimes get tired of looking at the same thing, so that is when I swap to a costume.

I wish there was an "it depends" option.

My Argonian looks lovely in her Argonian armor, but she also looks striking in her Dragon Priest costume. My Imperial tank shines best in her Pact heavy armor, my Altmer can look good in his Xivkyn light or any of the fancier dresses (seriously, it's stupid how good he looks in feminine costumes. Everyone comments on it.)

I usually end up with a costume, but I don't mind using armors.

Armor

I don't prefer wearing armor because I believe that equipment (armor) is inherently a better option - it's just that so far, none of the costumes really capture the way I want to look, while the individual pieces of armor I can craft can get...closer...to the way I'd prefer to look.

I *was* kinda looking forward to the breton hero costume - then I previewed it...ugh...

And yet i feel the otherway i really dont like any of the armour sets they all look half arsed done with the exception of the you know what costume thats 2000crowns worth of mess!!

Costume, because I'm too lazy to research all the different armor appearances and then spend 3 days dying each piece just right.

Also, I can switch costumes according to my current activity. Ain't no-one gonna be a good thief in full plate armor - much better to sneak around all pirate-like.

It has to be both for me. Some of the low level armour (Khajiit light or Redguard medium) I really like. Some of the more casual costumes I quite like to. But i'm happy wandering around in attire that others share with me. What would be really interesting is a greater range of normal clothing.

Armor

I have not worn a costume in a while, but I do remember seeing my character put the thing on every time I logged, that bugged me, so I stopped using costumes for the most part. I do have a couple of mules wearing a Noble's outfit but that is about it.

Since we can now dye the costumes, I may pick a couple more. Still not sure if I can deal with seeing them put it on each time I log. What, were they standing around naked while I was logged off?

In the past, 100% armor.

The setups requiring dropped gear I want to use now don't look very pleasant. I always spend my rare mats and everything to have awesome armor for crafted gear.

Now that costume dyes are a thing, my characters will look awesome no matter what their armor actually looks like.

I vote for a transmogrification system aka change the motif on already created armor!

Armor

My favorite light armor is the original Daedric. Since I choose to run 5-1-1, I end up hiding Greaves under my Robes and use a Belt (which looks close enough to the sash) to keep the "mage look". With the Daedric Red and Legate's Black dyes, my Daedric gear is beast!

^This about sums it up for me too. My main I agonize over which styles to use where. But my bank alt is dressed in a hideous mismash of styles and will be until he hits 50+, so he wears the Bleakrock Bandit disguise. Though now I'm attached to the disguise so he may just keep wearing it. :P

This - a pack of that stuff what NPCs are wearing as costumes - does not have to be extreme quality, but should be dyeable and a bundle pack at a reasonable price.

Armor

I prefer armor most of the time, but I'm cheap and an altoholic so problems pop up. My argonian mageplar looks smashing in his argonian-style Julianos set, but it does not quite work on my Breton sorceress. So I'll use costumes to paper over the fact that I'm too cheap to make 8+ sets of gear.

My CatStamBlade loves the toxin doctor costume though and is very much looking forward to dying it.
