Reaching Mages Guild 10

I haven't even been hunting these books and my skill is nearing level 8, however I am currently halfway through Cadwell's Gold, so I'm FAR behind where I would be if I had been actively searching for these.

I am quite curious what the Meteor Ultimate is like...

DC I am pretty sure has 1 extra book in one of its starting islands. Gonna test soon if it is possible to get meteor pre vet.

My templar is mid veteran level. Both fighters & mages guild are up to level 9. Through collecting lore books & fighting Deadra. Yet to do any of the quests related to both guilds.

I decided to spend a few nights focused just on collecting Lore Books. So I loaded up a map of em all I found online and went searching down the list. What I figure is don't worry so much about just getting every book you see. Focus on completing Collections first, when you do each one gives you a big chunk of experience which seems like it's equal to finding about five or so books at once.

Regardless, if you can easily minimize, or you have a second monitor or a tablet then look up a map of all the books online and just go scouring. Took me just two nights of going through the ones I missed to get from 6 to 10. Granted my character had already been getting to the end of Cadwell's Gold so I could go to any region I needed.

I dont know why people think it is pain or hard to get MG 10 if you are go to lvl up a alt and will still do quest in caldwell, orsinium and thieves guild zone why not just take book when you are out questing i honest dont see the problem.

OP i have see that ZoS have add more book in all zones since i have MG 10 and when go back to zone my addon have use show mroe book in every zone so yeah maybe you can get MG 10 in just one factions.

Yeah, that's what I did with my main.

Are you saying that both the "blue" and "red" books increase my MG level? (see map in link below)

As far as I now, only the books that disappear after reading increase your MG level, not the ones that stay.

Red books are exclusive to that location, and blue books are not.

I learned to right click on the book in my Lorebook journal and then click on the map coordinates. This opens the map and shows you where the books are. Many times I had several icons stacked (in Cyrodiil for instance) that prevented me from seeing the lore book.

Another thing to understand is that the books are not retroactive. In other words you must get the mages guild prior to reading any books or they will not count towards your ranking up in the guild. (though they will count towards the set completions)

Not that hard to do. Leveling up my 6th character and lore books are easy to pick up while getting shards. No big deal. If this is your biggest complaint about the game it appears all is going well for you.

I thought I would necro this thread to let everybody know that doing all zones collections in the 3 alliances is not enough to get to MG10. It takes you very close to it but you would need to complete another 1-2 small collections to get to 10.

People just keep complaining about anything they don't get for free nowadays... Getting mages guild to lvl 10 is one of the easiest things in the game. Just grab an addon like "Lorebooks" that shows you the location of the books and by simply gathering them as you quest you'll get to lvl 10 or very close to lvl 10 by the time you hit lvl 50.

Or go out, spend an hour gathering the books an voila, lvl 10.

Then they changed it... I have got 2 chars to 10 on EP and never set foot in Silver until just recently.

I'm talking about zone collections only (no other random lorebooks)

Of course it's easy, you're on PC. If only console players had all these addons too
