They do the maintenance at the same time to save time
Yeah because it's in the same place? Lol

The wonders of remote management.
One team working on it doesn't mean the machines are not in physical different locations.
I do lots of remote management for work. It's not that uncommon anymore.
So really they just don't care about European servers enough to close them at 5am our time?
It's one team and they work on their local time.
That's a yes then

I take it you don't care about giving these people an evening off. Make them pull a double shift just for you.

The EU servers are in EU. Frankfurt.
They have had cases where maintenance on the PC NA server caused problems with the PC EU server if it was not taken down at the same time. Whatever problems it caused, I recall it took them the better part of a day to fix it one time it happened.
Maintenance happens when ZOS employees do maintenance.

That's not how megaservers work.
You know, I'd love for them to change the times to when I'm at work - lets get them onto that pronto!ScottK1994 wrote: »So who else thinks it wouldn't be too difficult for them to "remote network" our maintenance at a standard maintenance time? I'd like to be able to play on my Mondays off and when they do have extended maintenance they don't even warn us.
We could use some change

By the way mate, I'm about 11 hours ahead of you....so downtime during my work day is downtime during your (likely) gaming time.

Because they're terrible at their jobs then. I've played World of Warcraft for years(no I'm not going back. I play ps4 now) and they had suitable maintenance times for hundreds of servers. Zenimax has 4. They're ***.

EU server is in EU.
NA server is in NA.
There are only 2 servers, not 4. I just named them.
Lordrichter is correct, they do maint. at the same time because it caused problems when they tried to do as you suggest. So you can have your maint. at the same time as the NA server, or you can have it break and be down all day.
Megaserver IS a thing. I suggest...google...
You are welcome for the opportunity to play this amazing game. You are welcome that they cared enough to put a server over there in the first place.

The server was offline for 8 hours on Monday.

Yeah it's a thing on Elder scrolls wiki to describe a singular network of servers. They lack servers and they lack the ability to perform services on them.
The game having maintenance at bad times. Bugs aren't fixed in minor patches. The server was offline for 8 hours on Monday. Don't accuse me of being privileged because they are providing a terrible service for what I paid for. Sub par for 70 pound.

Don't confuse the issue of needing to fix bugs with the server times.
These are two separate issues.

After reading my post again, I agree. That last paragraph didn't exactly say what I meant lol
What I'm trying to say is...at times, we all (forum users) need to remember that playing this game is not a right, its a privilege. Always a little too much griping going on here. I am just glad to live in a free country where I can do whatever I want. There are people in the world who don't even have a floor in their shack let alone running water and electricity. Here we are QQ'ing about all our first word problems.
Didnt mean that one server is better or worse. Just be glad to be able to play a game.

EU trading laws make games a right not a privilege. How can people not know this?
