Long story short my main got stuck in Wrothgar for a few days getting sent to dashboard over and over.

I sent in a ticket to have it moved to a new location and in 24hr the character was moved, awesome right! But then I read the email saying "we moved ur character but stay out of wrothgar until we can find out what the issue is with characters getting stuck in the loops, we won't be able to move your character a 2nd time."

This is bull crap! I pay for ur damn dlc and ur telling me not to go to a location I pay for and if I do my character is lost until you get ur crap together a fix the broken zone thats been broke for 4 maybe 5 months!?!?

Am I the only one that thinks this is pathetic? And why can't they move it a 2nd time?

I can tolerate this kind a thing for a week, perharps even two. But if it took more time than that I would totally ask for a refund.

If they spent all their time moving people out of a zone that they constantly get stuck in despite knowing they WILL get stuck if they go back they are wasting just as much time moving these people as those people that keep going back only to get stuck again.

You found a bug. They haven't figured out what causes it. It takes time to figure these things out and put in fixes.

I understand being upset. I understand feeling like you're not getting your money's worth. But it's not "bullcrap." It's perfectly reasonable considering the situation. Frustrating, but completely reasonable.

Indeed, but you did still get your money's worth by being able to play the DLC zone before it broke.

The stuck issue isn't very present on PS4 either. It really is mostly Xbox.

BUT how long has this been a issue 2-3 weeks come on instead of doing a 5 hour maintence for logging in or whatever ,,, why are they not focusing on a common bug that really should be fixed by now!!

Development doesn't really work that way. You fix stuff that you know how to fix, because you're wasting everybody's time slamming your head at the wall for ages when you have no idea what's going on. Their Xbox (and PS4 I guess) stability (or whatever they're called) teams probably are focusing on this. The team who did the login maintenance probably doesn't have the slightest clue how to fix Orsinium crashes because that's not their thing. I would bet on there being a team working on this that has a fire lit under their collective butts.

I do sympathize. Like, I get it. But diverting all resources from all teams to fix this problem would be way too many hats for most of the employees. They are human, after all.

I for one have not played Orsinium, yet I bought it when it first came available on xbox. There is so much content in this came that I have been lost in the massiveness of this game (pvp, pve, delves, trials). I have yet to do everything in the zones I have visited (bit of a completionist). I do get dash boarded once every time I play for about 3 to 5 hours. I remember everyone complaining about the loading screens. Since then, seems like everything else is going downhill. I am going to just sit back and wait until everything starts improving by exploring more of the main areas and Cyrodiil. Been a while since a game has kept me entertained for over a year.

OR is it because its free to play ?? would you gladly pay there $19 ( costs me $19aud ) a month to have eso plus.. say ESO was strictly sub based would you pay money for long for a broke game?? how quickly would the game last?? and does the free to play/or sub really matter that ppl payed for dlc that is broken and has been for weeks hows that fair??

I wonder if they will make an exception next time they put in the patch notes they have improved performance there.

I mean it doesnt happen to everyone so the only way to know would be to go there.

The would be sort of funny. Yeah i know we said we fixxed it. But guess what, we still aint moving your characters!

When did I say that it was fair, or that it's okay? I'm just saying it's not like ZOS is cackling all the way to the bank on this. Their shareholders are probably really not happy that they're getting reduced revenue from the console markets. It's also not like they are sitting on a fix and are deliberately holding it from you. That was my point and I hope it's clearer now. They are probably incredibly frustrated as well, and I don't blame anyone who cancels their sub/quits over this.

See, the problem is now only occuring on XBox. For a long while there, they thought the Memory Leak issue was the prime cause of characters getting stuck. However, from my knowledge of programming, I could be certain that the majority of dashboarding issues were caused by the memory leak. But, not the writs bug that crashes the system initially, then prevents login. That is not a memory issue.

Also, this bug is almost unique to the XBox. The XBox and PC clients are essentially the same, with a few minor UI adaptations and some stuff removed/disabled from the XBox client that is on the PC. I do believe that the PS4 client is essentially the Mac client, again with tweaks.

Somewhere along the line, there is a compatibility issue, but the precise cause of it can only be guessed at without seeing error logs. Something overloads or completely fails to load in Wrothgar.

Maybe they used Texture maps that cannot be read by the XBox? See, the PC client would most likely fetch and install the libraries during install to make them compatible, but the XBox client has to make do with what the XBox version of Windows 10 provides.

If this is a texture map problem (and the pink stuff non-rendered stuff you often see in Wrothgar certainly indicates this), then it may well be down to Microsoft to provide the libraries. It may even be something as stupid as a version problem, but I would have thought that if that was the issue, we would see problems with more games dashboarding.

I did notice that the majority of these problems actually started around the XBox update from its original OS to Windows 10 Xbox version, so it leads me to believe that its something to do with the Wrothgar DLC map and Windows 10. Whatever it is, it does NOT happen in TG or DB anywhere near as much.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_GinaBruno I have a test case proposal for you to put to the devs working on this. Try moving the writs to Abah's Landing from Orsinium, and see if this still happens. I have a sneaking suspicion it might just work. Its a theory, but its worth a try.

Since they have not fixed it yet they tell people that for the player's own good. Once it gets fixed they will tell people they can go back. It's like how companies recall faulty products for the consumer's own safety.

I honestly can't believe some of the garbage I'm reading in this thread.

The situation you just described is nothing like what's current going on with wrothgar, when a product is recalled for safety issues it's because an issue has been discovered usually by the company itself. The product being recalled works perfectly fine and the user's don't know about the issue until notified by the company.

What we have here is a broken product, we don't need to be told that there's an issue, in fact it's the user's telling the company there's an issue.
