My past ,present and future experience in pvp

StarSphinx
When I bought the game over a year ago since I like to pvp I decided to try leveling up to do that.

I went the middle of the map, got my level boosted and had a bad experience in multiple ways.

1. I even as a magic user couldn't really hurt anyone.

2. I had very little knowledge what I was doing to the point it was frustrating.

3. I felt that I did nothing to earn my high level so it felt a bit fake, like after the high passes when I win a game and realize playing further feels pointless.

I came back this week and im looking for advice on how to prevent myself from having a negative experience again.

I want to still pvp but im wondering if I should hold off until a much higher level so I have a better understanding of mechanics, and am actually stronger, not just partially boosted.

I am also curious about how gear affects pvp? is the best gear dropped from npc, or crafted?

Would it be worth dabbling in crafting for any reason?

I just want to make sure I don't miss out on the fun aspects of the game, or repeat my previous mistakes that took the fun out of it for me

If your level is low you may have more fun in the non vet campaign. Armor is one of the most important aspects of this game. I would definitely recommend just buying the mats or armor you need (or farm for it) it will make a huge difference. In PvP if you are a beginner I would also recommend that you play a stamina character it's just alot easier. Join a group don't play solo if you are just starting out

    1) Champion points, gear and skill makes all the diference in Cyrodill. While you are leveling, I suggest you to don't engage in melee, use long ranged attacks, heals, observe and learn a litte bit.

    2) Concerning gear, its one of the most important aspects of pvp suggest you check this site elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Sets to learn what exist out there. There is a really good balance betweend dropped and craft. Take a look around on this site and check what's suits you better.

    3) IMO, crafting is a must have. Even if you are not willing to engage on trading or anything, you need to make potions, poisons, food etc. If you want to take pvp seriously, you need to be prepared with the best pots and food. (of course you can still buy them, but when you actually know how to do it you have more options to craft what suits you better.

“Kings of the land and the sky we are; proud gryphons.” Stalker stands, the epitome of pride. Naked and muscular, his wings widen and his feet dig in as if he alone holds down the earth and supports the heavens, keeping the two ever separate.”

Currently build diversity is a bit impoverished, though the most creative players try to stretch it. You will need gear to support your playstyle that builds up two stats:

Tank: lots of health, lots of damage mitigation
Magicka DPS or (Magicka) Healer: lots of magicka, lots of spell damage
Stamina DPS: lots of stamina, lots of weapon damage

Recovery of your main attribute is also important, but if your abilities don't hit hard enough for damage or healing, it will be hard to have fun. Also spell penetration (for magicka builds) or physical penetration (for stamina builds) is important for hitting hard.

Different builds manage these concerns with various combinations of gear choices and, for level 50 characters, champion points, as well as food/drink. More specific advice depends on the role you are trying for.
