It's just the increased costs I think.... heard a lot of people with this issue.
On my Magplar I didn't used to have sustain issues... now I have had to include channeled focus in my rotation... seems a little better now.

Just curious- what made you not want the additional 5k resistances with Channeled focus along with the magicka recovery beforehand?

@Eshelmen Wanted - Yes... Needed (Prior to last update) - No
Two factors I guess... when running as a PvE dps the resistances from the skill are not really needed, they're a kinda nice extra I guess, but Templars running a jabbsy build have a lot of in-built self healing so unless either your positioning or your healer needs some improvement then you don't have a need to specifically buff your resistances as a dps really.
The other aspect to the skill is the magicka return.... as I mentioned, before the cost increases I didn't have a sustain issue. CP at the cap, supports running ele drain & syphon.
SO there wasn't a need to run it.... it would just have meant a bar swap and extra skill for nothing when I could have hit a dps skill instead. Now with the cost increases I find I have to include it in the rotation to keep the sustain up... no magicka = no dps.
For regen it is (or was the last time I tested it):Personofsecrets wrote: »Does anyone have an equation to show the intersection of where magic regen efficiency = spell cost reduction efficiency when assuming an average spell cost and given multiple variations of spells cast per minute (5 spells per minute, 10 spells per minute, and so on)?
Also, can anyone describe how magic cost reduction diminished returns work and how the magic regeneration stat id determined when calculating several multipliers increasing that stat?

They also fixed cost reduction passives, but this can't make up for it.For regen it is (or was the last time I tested it):Personofsecrets wrote: »Does anyone have an equation to show the intersection of where magic regen efficiency = spell cost reduction efficiency when assuming an average spell cost and given multiple variations of spells cast per minute (5 spells per minute, 10 spells per minute, and so on)?

((base regen + armour sets + enchants) * cp * percentage armour sets + drinks) * (sum over all passive skills)
For cost reduction it's:
(base cost * (1 - cp) - enchants) * (1 - sum over all passive skills)

I am talking for pve i am a high elf with 501 cp and i have to run rune focus. Lots of people in the trial group complain. Drain, orbs and syphon dont seem to be working as good. Seems like one of those pvp nerfs that hit pve way too hard. Everyone is just goung to go stamina
