TLDR can't sell your account.

TLDR can't sell paid additions to your account.

TLDR TLDR your account has no transferable real-world value of any kind.
So, yes, it's worth exactly zero dollars on the aftermarket.
Hence why I say time and time again how people trying to wring real-world value out of this game through ESO+ or other means are stuck in a sunk cost loop.

Guys...we get that we don't own our accounts nor can we sell them. The OP is simply asking for a hypothetical. If you were to list your account and get away with selling it, how much would you ask for? It's a very simple question that shouldn't require this much explanation.

When my wife and I retired from World of Warcraft we sold our accounts. I got $800 for mine and she got $700 for hers. Of course we had the best gear in the game at the time and a lot of money and mats banked up. We were in a world ranked guild, strictly PvE. A friend of ours had a top ranked PvP rogue that won several Blizzard public tournaments and I found out a year after he quit that he sold his account for $2500.
What does this teach us? It pays to PvP, lol

I used to play mafia wars on Facebook (yeah, really I hate FB and that's the only reason I even have an account). It's F2P, but you can invest a lot of real world money into building up your ... gang (whatever - it's a blur now), anyway supposedly someone who had literally put thousands of dollars into their account was trying to "sell" it. I heard the had no luck at all.

What would I sell my ESO account for?

I still have Morrowind on my 'puter. (last time I played it I got all giggly and freaky at the familiar sound of picking up a potion).

I wouldn't sell my account even if it was allowed by ZoS because I just think it's kinda weird. I value the time I've invested in the game but I've never felt it had any monetary value. The bigger question is would people buy. I don't know there would be a big market for this. I've read the other posts here concerning people who did sell accounts but the number seems minuscule in comparison to the player base. It doesn't sound like it would be profitable to sell.

I would never sell my account, I am too attached to my characters to think of anyone else playing them.

If you offered to pay off my mortgage, I would think long and hard about it before I gave you that no, of course.

That said, everyone has a price for anything. It's just that my account is worth much much more to me than it would be for anyone else.

Well, as sharing an account is forbidden so is selling an account as well - so this is just a hypothetical question and we should be all clear about that this is not a legal option.

To me my characters are much like my children, which inherited a part of my personality - I would never sell them.

Good question. I'd never sell my account though. There can only be one Doncellius!

..... but if I did, I'd only do it for:
• A 501CP account
• Account has max level Stam Sorc and Magicka Sorc, all skill lines leveled and 250+ skill points each. Also a crafter DK with 8+ traits on everything.
• Millions of gold in in every type of crafting material that can be placed in a crafting bag
• 10M gold
• 2K of every gold improvement temper

I'd need a literal copy of my old account except with unlimited gold tempers and many millions of gold

ESO doesn't really have much of a monetary value, it has no black market for anything so it's hard to judge what "monetary" value it has.

There used to be a MMO i played from 2000 to 2013 called Mu Online (Diablo'eque MMO) very primitve, but horribly addictive and being a Korean grindfest is also P2W both from in-game shops and by other players (black markets, facebook trades etc).
Most transactions were not done in in-game gems (one of the currencies) but through real money because the items have gotten so expensive over the countless years, you can't have/own/trade that much gems to even think about anything else outside RL transactions.
Needless to say i was quite a rich bi*ch there, had an offer for one of the rarest event swords (Excellent Archangel Sword+15+all options) - offers started as low as 5k Euros and went all the way up to 30k euros, and that was just ONE item - i had 5 accounts (Yes, multiboxing is allowed and even encouraged there, as there's a special option to multibox set by the game launcher

)
The difference between Western and Eastern MMO's... Day and Night.
After playing that game it's very hard to see anything in ESO as "valuable" for RL currency, it just isn't. This is why in western MMO's most valuable items are BoP to discourage excessive trades of BiS items and discourage black market as much as possible.
